Oh How He Loves Me

Birthday parties are done, decorations put away. Another anniversary has gone by and now we are in the midst of Holy Week.
It has certainly been a strange 2.5 months since we began 2008. So much, much, much going on and when I think of all that we’ve done and been through in such a short time (I mean it’s been only 11 weeks!) I see God’s handprint on it all. We serve an AWESOME GOD!
In the past few weeks, He has been speaking to me in wonderful ways and showing me He is near in still more wonderful ways. My eyes have been opened to some of wonderful little things He does for me just because He loves me.
For example- last week I had to quick run to the store to exchange the dress shoes we had purchased for the girls- a real quick run because I needed to be at a meeting and only had about 15 min. to get in and out of the store and be driving out of there. When we had been there earlier in the week I had noticed that there had been only one pair in the next size of the shoes we wanted for Sassafras and so rushing into the store to exchange for that next size I said a short quick prayer that they would be there. They weren’t. Well, that’s alright, I figured, we’ll just keep the ones that are just right (though they probably won’t make it through the summer). And I quickly hustled over to the women’s shoe section (where my lovely 11 yo daughter now fits foot-wise!) to pick up the next half size up for her . . . . . . and there, low and behold next to the size 6.5 I needed for Maiden was the size 4 white shoes I had wanted for Sass.
You just betcha that I took the time to thank the Lord for that!
I just stood there saying to myself, “Lord, you are so awesome. You are SO awesome!!!”
I serve an incredible Lord who takes my smallest concerns seriously. Did He have to do that? Did He need to do that? Heaven’s no but I like to think He got a great deal of joy out of doing it and seeing me so excited- because that wasn’t all . . . . .
Those shoes for Sassafras were now ringing up on sale and so I was credited the difference and pocketed $4.05 in cash!!!
Yes, it was an inconvenience to have to go back to the store to exchange those shoes and if I had been given the choice- of course, I would have wanted to get the correct sized the first time . . . .  BUT I would have totally missed out on those two glorious God Moments!!! Missed out on the unexpected gifts of joy God had planned for me.
We serve an AWESOME God.
Oh, yes indeed.

We were on a shopping trip once and prayed for great sales and low and behold every place we went to had some kind of sale going on. In one store I was in line to buy a dress that was at a great price when a lady handed me a 25% off coupon she got in the mail and said here honey, you use this, I couldn't find anything I needed! God answers our prayers....even the little ones.

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
