Scheduling hiccup
Dentist for Mr. Conductor this morning.Can you believe I completely forgot he had the appointment until the reminder phone call yesterday afternoon?
Oh, my goodness. Smack dab in the middle of our school time too.
So we threw some school in one of my fancy bags and headed out. As we drove, Maiden did spelling with me while Sassafras did math and Mr. Conductor “read” Sass’s science book. Then it was math for Maiden and spelling for Sassafras while I sat between the two girlies at the dentist’s office.
Super A-Okay report for Mr. C. and we were on the road car-schooling again, Sass reading her science to Mr. C and Maiden reading about Marco Polo and a cool detective science book. A quick stop at Aldi’s for a few ingredients for a special homeschool group project next week and a pretty little bouquet of roses ($2.99) for me- just because. Then more car-school reading. All in all we were gone for a bit over 2 hours and had accomplished 2/3 of our schooling.
The days don’t always go this smoothly when there are interruptions and schedule changes but this was one of the good days.
Now I’m up to my eyeballs in paperwork for an upcoming overnight youth event and avoiding Maiden’s research paper. It’s been such a lovely day, why spoil it?! That research outline can simply wait until tomorrow.

My Husband (DH)-Mr. Steady
My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.
DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.
DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.
DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
