Our 100th Day of School

100th Day was a rousing success! We had so much fun. First, I woke the kidlets with a shout of “Happy 100th Day!”
Then it was a “100” breakfast- sausage link and 2 pancakes.

School started with a fun science project- the kiddos counted out and placed 100 ice cubes in a large jar.

We then each made a colored mark on the jar where we think the water level will be when the ice melts. We also made hypotheses as to how long we each thought it would take for the ice to melt and noted them on our science sheets.

Other fun things we did today- Phys. Ed: 10 different exercises done 10 times each, seeing where 100 steps from the front door would take us, putting together a 100 pc puzzle, looking for and watching a DVD that is exactly 100 minutes, being quiet for 100 seconds . . . . .
Here’s our “100” lunch- a hotdog, scoop of cottage cheese and a pear half. The kids loved all the different activities and the fun food.

They also loved that school was done in a couple of hours- giving them time to rumble tumble in the two feet of snow that fell yesterday morning.
By evening we were all 100-ed out and had a simple supper of veggie hamburger soup, watched a family movie and snuggled down in our beds early for some quiet reading.
A very good day.

What a neat idea! Your cubes look like a fun science project!

The 100 meals turned out well. I love the ice cube experiment too. Sounds like everyone had a fun day!

God's Blessings,

Amy,
Congratulations on your 100th day.
I know you have gotten rid of your credit cards, but I just read something I wanted to pass on. We do have one credit card, and we pay the balance in full each month. It's mainly for my husband to pay for gas for his car, or if we have a big purchase we have saved for. Apparently the credit card companies are now starting to CANCEL cards when the balance is paid in full each month because the credit card companies don't make any money on those accounts. I guess we will have to look into a debit card, but I don't know if they charge fees, too. My understanding of debit cards is that you put money in, and you take money out as you use the card. I thought it was like a check book. I don't even know how to go about applying for a debit card.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
