Extra grace required- just ignore

Sigh. I’ve been feeling a bit run down the last few days. I realized yesterday evening that I hadn’t taken my vitamins at all so far this week. So this morning Maiden made sure to get them out for me. And so today I felt much better.
We did, however, start our day a bit later. I got up half an hour later than I normally do and so that pushed our day a half hour later . . . . thank goodness for homeschooling and the ability to not totally throw off your schedule by sleeping in!
Received a prickly email from an EGR person in my life (Extra Grace Required) and after a bit of grumbling and gritting my teeth- I decided to delete it and ignore it—if they want to confront me in person over it- so be it. I felt like saying “Bring it on.” [For shame!] I have to admit that my first impulse was to reply and say what I was thinking- but I refrained. The good Lord reminded me that I am a light for Him and even when dealing with “other well meaning Christians who choose to fly off the handle” . . . . I should refrain. As my Momma would say, “Be the better person.” I don’t know how much of a better person I am—I just know I was able to fight my first instincts. And of course, I’ll be praying about the Lord leading my response should EGR decide to speak with me about it on Sunday.

I am a collector of quotes and a few really fit here:
Those who anger you—conquer you.
It is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.
Don’t argue with an idiot—people watching may not be able to tell the difference.
Does your life shed light or cast a shadow?
Talk slowly but think quickly.
Never miss a good chance to shut up.
You can never unsay a cruel word.
Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord. Psalm 139:4 [--Good thing He often keeps me from saying it out loud!]
Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing. Proverbs 12:18
Those that control their tongue will have a long life; a quick retort can ruin everything. Proverbs 13:3
Wise people think before they act; fools don’t and even brag about it! Proverbs 13:16

Wow. Those verses have really spoken to me! Sometimes I’m that wise person but at other times- I’m the fool!

Hi- I read your blog often. Just wanted you to know God used you to minister to me today. I have a EGR in my life at present. I must say, I have been acting the fool in my responses. This is the encouragement I need to respond to God rather than her. Thanks for sharing.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
