a bit of this and a tad of that
We had 7-8 inches of snow dumped on our little town over the weekend. Everything is a beautiful tranquil white.Simply lovely.
Mr. Steady and I enjoyed a vigorous work-out yesterday morning as we worked to shovel out our car (which was not only snowed in but plowed in too!). Spent a good 40 minutes or so digging it out.
Nice big piles of the white stuff today for the kidlets to stomp and dig and such (not very good packing though). Thank goodness we’ve got plenty of hot cocoa as I’m sure they’ll be going out again before the day is through.
Spent the afternoon watching It’s A Wonderful Life, one of my very favorite Christmas movies. Mr. Steady had the day off today so it was a pleasure to cozy up together and enjoy an afternoon matinee in our own living room.
Ah- all of my Christmas decorations aren’t all up yet- and probably won’t be as the house looks wonderful as is and I don’t need the added jot on my To Do list. We’re planning to bake a couple more batches of cookies this week and perhaps another batch of fudge as well as some Oreo truffles to give as gifts.
Life is good.
God is good.
We are blessed.

I am so jealous that you have snow. We just got rain from the weekend storm that passed north of us.
Ok, now I know what you mean by caramel syrup. The caramel ice cream topping we have is quite thick, and I think of a syrup as being something you can pour like a liquid. That does sound like a great idea putting it in oatmeal...I never would have thought of that!

My Husband (DH)-Mr. Steady
My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.
DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.
DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.
DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
