Preparing for Rain

Mr. Steady and I had the opportunity to watch the movie Facing the Giants. I've been wanting to see it for awhile and just hadn't made the time to do it.
Now, I realize it was God's timing that had us watching it yesterday.
This movie profoundly impacted both of us in the struggle we are facing right now. I could totally identify with Coach Taylor at the beginning of the movie- when it seemed like everything was going wrong.
The whole movie really resonated with me but the scene where the older gentleman tells Coach Taylor about 2 farmers particularly hit home.
I'm not going to be able to quote it word for word- but this is it in a general sense.
Older Man: "Two farmers were praying for rain. One farmer went out and prepared his fields for the rain. Which farmer trusted God to bring the rain?"
Coach Taylor: "The one who prepared his fields."
Older Man: "Which one are you? Are you just praying for rain or are you preparing for the rain?"
And of course, at the end of the movie- the coach makes an interesting call for a play at the end of an important football game- the guys look at him like he's lost his marbles and ask him what he's doing. His response, "I'm preparing for rain."

Mr. Steady and I both agree that we've been praying for rain but not preparing for it. In fact, I'm not sure I know how to prepare for rain in our circumstances. So I am asking God to show me how to prepare for the rain. I am confident the rain will come.
And if it doesn't?
I will still love Him.
I will still praise Him.

Oh, hubby and I loved this movie - my in-laws sent it to us because they wanted us to watch it. We both sobbed - what a wonderful testimony the script held - I'm so glad it ministered to you during this rough time.
