Teaching character traits

I absolutely love Doorpost’s book for girls- Polished Cornerstones. Our character training studies and so much more come from this incredible book. I know we will use this book all through our homeschooling years. The book takes the fabulous Bible chapter, Proverbs 31 and breaks it down into over 50 chapters each with it’s own character trait. Here are some titles for a few of the chapters: A Determined Woman, A Thrifty Woman, A Woman Who Uses Her Time Wisely, A Loyal Woman. [See doorposts.net for a full chapter listing].
I love how the projects listed in each chapter qualify for one or more subjects of schooling- such as writing a thank you note covers hospitality character training and handwriting.
Note: go here and scroll down to PDF Sample- you can download 12 pages of the book for FREE!
As for our home study right now- we are focusing on hospitality.

We are using PC and PGU this year, too! My almost-18yo, my 16yo and my 13yo are learning so much! It really does cover all ages!
Nice post...

I chose it to be featured in The 18th Homesteading Carnival-Color Edition!

Feel free to announce it if you like, and by all means, take a look!
Blessings!

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
