Yesterday, my dear, darling wonderful Husband and I celebrated 12 years of marriage. We sent the kiddos overnite to family members on Saturday and woke up with the sun shining on just us in our bed. We ate breakfast in bed (yummy butter cream frosted cinnamon rolls- made in advance!) and watched a movie- in bed- cuddling. And just spent the most relaxing quiet day together. My DH asked me what’s the best thing about the last 12 years and I said “YOU!” I also told him how I am just so blessed that he continues to love and even adore me in spite of all my faults (of which there are a plethora). I also love how he looks at me- just like he did at the alter 12 years ago.

Once I told him he didn’t really see me- the sags, extra pounds, and stretch marks and what-not- I complained because he still looked at me as if I still looked the same as I did @ 20 yrs old. (I know- In hind sight it was a pretty stupid complaint!) He laughed and said “Is that such a bad thing? When your 80 I’ll still see you the same!” You know he was right- I rather like the thought that he’ll still see me as that young girl when I am grey and wrinkled up.

I pray for 50 or so more years of this with him. It seemed too unbelievable as I stood at that alter 12 years ago and pledged my life to him that I could ever love him more than I did at that moment on that day. Thankfully God is just full of beautiful surprises. I am in that “contented love” stage- we passed the “lust” stage a long time ago. LOL! I thought contented love would be boring- ha! There is nothing better than curling up next to the person who knows you best and still loves you anyway. In a way that is more of a turn on. Hmm.

So hereÂ’s to my darling husband and I! Brad- Only God could love you more than I do!
