Sister Day

Oh, dear, have things been busy here.
Yesterday I spent the day with my sister- Sisters Day. She had her final dress fitting for the wedding and we also did some "honeymoon" shopping and talked about marriage and such. I was blessed to be able to share so much with her of what I have learned over the years and how God has grown me as a wife.
She is still reading Created To Be His Helpmeet and was able to ask me some different questions about it too. We also discussed some of the "stuff" going on in our family right now and she was able to encourage me (a nice bonus to the day).
She and Mr. Mechanic are hosting an engagement luncheon at his (soon to be their) home on Saturday afternoon. It's just a little party for our family- we've never been to Mr. Mechanic's home and we'd all like to know where the Bride will be living!
After spending the day with the Bride, I had time to return phone calls and such (youth work) and then was off to Beach Bible Study with my teens last evening. Once a year in August, I take the youth group to Lake Michigan and we eat and swim then have bible study on the beach as the sun sets- then we walk to the lighthouse and eat ice cream. We didn't get a chance to walk to the light last nite as a storm was quickly rolling in and we wanted to be out of there before it hit. But we still had a great time.
The young woman in my group who lost her father on Tuesday was with us and she seemed to enjoy herself also. We tried to just keep things "normal" for her. I am busy spending time with her and tomorrow will be the visitation and the funeral will be on Saturday.
In the midst of it all, we're finalizing everything for school to start next week and for our upcoming vacation  . . . . . I may have to take a bit of a bloggy break  . . . . .
