The fullness of the days

4:01 PM, 2007-Aug-15 .. Posted in Family Life .. 1 comments .. Link
The days are very full here. Lots going on. I’m hopping and skipping from one project to the next and not really finishing any of them . . . . took some time to weed half the garden, then I decided to finally put that last stack of books from 06-07 homeschool year back upstairs on their proper shelves and off the table in my office- doing that led me to shuffling thru stacks of papers and more books and a couple of boxes of odds and ends that had all ended up on the big table in my office. So now my office is half clean and some of the books for this coming school year have been arranged for easy reference on the table. I’ve gone through some of my youth files and parted with (i.e. threw away) a lot of dated materials and duplicates (why oh why did I think I needed to hang on to all that?!). There is a box in the upstairs dressing room half full of out-grown clothes and I know there are so many other clothes that need to go in it . . . .
I’m also in the midst of writing and polishing my monthly youth ministry reports (yes that’s plural- one written report and a financial report plus this month is an additional financial and write up on our youth camping trip). I have oodles of folders to put together for our MOPS group and name badges to make . . . .
I’ve been working on tweaking our upcoming school schedule- had a new idea as I was laying in bed thinking on things instead of sleeping last night. Not to mention the planning of the first 4 weeks of the school year for our little homeschool co-op- which I volunteered for before I knew my sister was going to get engaged and then decide to get married in September! Which leaves me to fit in special time with her and helping with the planning and such. Oh the fullness of the days . . . .
Seems a smidge too busy for the likes of me. And so instead of piling into bed and pulling the covers over my head for the next 6 week like part of me is begging to do- I’m writing down everything that needs to be done and scheduling it so as to not overwhelm myself and yet at the same time- accomplish things. And because I’ve learned the hard way- I’m scheduling in down time and family time too- otherwise I’m not fit to live with.

Wow it sounds as if you are really busy at this present time :) I hope that your schedule manages to become a little calmer in the weeks ahead.

Blessings

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
