Thankfulness is what I need
Thinking on thankful things today.We now have the money saved to pay our summer property taxes and we found out that our car insurance has decreased by a considerable amount. Praise God.
Mr. Conductor decided that he wanted to wash my feet last night while I was sitting on the floor playing with him (“You gots dirty feets, Mama,” he said). I was about to decline but was reminded of what an act of service this is- even if it’s just a wet towel. He was so very gentle and loving. It was not only a heart tugging moment for me but also a humbling one- allowing my 3 yo son to do this for me. So I am thanking God not only for my willing son but that I took the time and didn’t brush him off . . . .
I am thankful that the weather is considerably cooler today. No air conditioner running- just open windows and fans. There is laundry on the line- smelling wonderfully like lavender and vanilla.
I am thankful for the bounty from our garden. A favorite lunch around here is tomato sandwiches (2 slices bread, mayo and thick slices of tomatoes or Maiden’s deluxe version- toast the bread and add a slice of cheese). Not only is it a delicious lunch but the cost is next to nothing.
I am thankful for my children’s wonderful imaginations. Today they are rearranging their fairy garden, checking out bug exoskeletons, catching interesting buggies and just generally enjoying life.
I am so thankful for Mr. Steady. Yesterday, he made a statement to some people at church in regards to something I had said "No" to- it was a wonderful firm statement of explanation and very succinct. I could not have said it better nor would I have made such an impact by saying it. He stood up for me and I am grateful.
I could go on and on. I am thankful that it seems our water dilema has been addressed. I am thankful for friends in other churches who share and lift up our prayer concerns.
I am thankful for a heart that is full of contentment and peace and this wonderful relaxed feeling I'm having. Ah. Sigh.
God is good.

My Husband (DH)-Mr. Steady
My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.
DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.
DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.
DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
