WFMW: Giving Erasers another chance

9:00 AM, 2007-Aug-8 .. Posted in Works for Me .. 2 comments .. Link
I don’t know about you but in our household we have a plethora of pencils- many not even yet used (they hand them out everywhere now- we got 8 at a parade!) And here we find that the erasers “go bad” before the pencil has even shrunk half way. Sometimes they break off- of some little diligent soul bites them off and then pinches the metal (I try to dissuade that behavior) but mostly for one reason or another the erasers get nasty. You know- that nasty that leaves behind grey smudges when you try to erase- what looks like a perfectly good pencil becomes a perfectly annoying pencil.
Do you suffer from this malady too? Well, I just so happen to have a solution (not a cure but a solution). Lightly “buff” the offending eraser on an emery board. The emery board will “remove” that top grimy layer from your eraser and it will be as good as new.
As for the other eraser disasters- we keep a heap of eraser caps in lovely colors!
Well, friends that’s what’s Working For Me this fine Wednesday.

I'm definitely going to try this - hardened erasers are one of my kids' biggest complaints when we're doing school. Hopefully this will help!

I hate getting those smudgy marks on my 2nd graders papers. I'll try the nail file.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
