Beauty of a Day

Beautiful day today, here at my little homestead. The sun is shining! Don’t you just love going and sitting down in a sunny spot and feeling all that warmth! MMMM.

We saw a Red Wing Blackbird the other day. The snow is slowly melting away. My house is clean except for the misc. Thomas trains all over- but that’s okay. I love seeing Sam sitting and playing with them and watching him use is wonderful 2 yr old imagination. What a joy, what a delight. I have a Fresh Cotton candle going- oh, I love that spring smell.

We’re having corn chowder for supper with homemade bread. I’m trying a new recipe for the bread- hope it works!

Tonight is open gym at our church- everyone is welcome to come play basketball or volleyball or board games or whatever. A lot of the teens in my youth group show up and it’s another chance to interact with them out from under regular “church” time. All in all it looks to be a peaceful day. All the laundry is caught up- just one more basket to put away. We’ll be starting our seeds soon and I’m thinking of growing some grass in a pot for the girls. (It’s fun to cut the grass with scissors and water it.)

I’m enjoying the calm before the storm . . . . . we’ve got some major house “re-arranging” to do. We will soon be turning the storage “catch-all” room off our kitchen into my office [and future homeschool room], my office will become the girls new bedroom and the girls room will become Sam’s room. Sam’s nursery will become our little library- a quiet nook in the midst of the chaos of family life! We have to tackle the first 3 rooms so I have a feeling after that we’ll be pooped-out and the library will wait until late summer/early fall.

Maybe I should take before/after pictures to share with you all. It’s going to be interesting.
