Shaving cream to clean- Works for Me

Today's Works for Me Wednesday Tip is another twofer! It's fun and cleaning all in one.
Here's my tip: Let your preschooler play with shaving cream on your kitchen floor or table . . . . .
We bought the most inexpensive shaving cream @ the dollar store (the white stuff- not gel) and put it on the kitchen table and kitchen floor and let Mr. Conductor have a blast!
He splatted and swirled and made finger designs and on and on. All the while he is actually helping clean my table and floor.
Now, the boy got messy- yep he did but that shaving cream wiped right off- even off his shirt and pants; didn't leave a stain and he smelled oh-so-nice.
My floor just sparkled where he had played (I got the girls to come in and play too to help clean more area). All we did to clean it up was to take some old towels and wipe it all up.
Now I don't know about every surface but my kitchen floor is about 20 year plus old linolieum and it didn't hurt it a bit. The table is wood and the finish is already coming off the top so I don't know if it was affected or not (I would not use it on my treasured walnut dining table). We used approx. one whole can for our free-for-all on the kitchen floor.
We have also used it with our homeschool group too and it cleans off those 8 ft. folding tables real slick! Here's a shot of Mr. Conductor playing at homeschool group.

He cleaned right up afterwards- just a wet wash cloth to wipe down him and his clothes. I have to say that this was the easiest time I've ever had cleaning my kitchen floor- and obviously the most fun too!
And that's what Works For Me today!

My kids use it on a large picture window in our living room. So much fun! Don't forget to shine your bathroom mirror with it also. That way the mirror will not fog over.

Cute shaving foam idea! Now that it's summer he can play in the shaving foam and then run outside in the sprinkler to clean off. Sounds like fun.
Amy, I was so glad to read that you have lined up the summer jobs to add to your savings. Someday this will all be behind you.
As for the kitty, I am so sorry for your family's loss and I totally understand grieving over a pet. I am sorry your son is taking it so hard, but it shows that even at his young age his heart is full of empathy. I think it is a lack of being able to feel empathy that results in so much teen violence and crime. Maybe that's why God put our loving pets into our lives...

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
