Ah, Monday

Sassafras signed up for her own library card today. She was so proud! Our library doesn't let children have a card of their own until they are in 2nd grade. Mr. Conductor "had issues" with it and I quietly told him that I would make him a mommy library card at home. Once home he promptly forgot about it.
I found a dollar bill in a pair of pants I haven't worn in months. Yay!
The weather has cooled- raining today (as it did yesterday and the day before). The kids are having a wonderful time imagining  themselves shipwrecked out in the tree house dry from the rain unless they want to run around in it. They are just so fun to watch.
Our garden is producing more lettuce than we can keep up with so we'll be sharing with the neighbors later. The garden is looking good- we've got a volunteer potato plant and a couple of volunteer pumpkin vines coming up in the compost I worked into the front bed-- but we don't mind. We're letting them stay and we'll wait and see what happens. I still don't have all the plants moved and trimmed in my garden as I had planned. The super hot weather and then days of rain have not made that possible. I am hoping for cool and dry soon to finish the job.
Mr. Steady cashed in the pop cans he's been collecting (we have a 10 cent refund in Michigan) from work (they just throw them away!) and bought me a put-together (press board) 5 shelf bookcase for this year's school books (which are still sitting in boxes). I am deeply touched.
My mom and I are setting a date for a yard sale here at my home sometime this summer and I'll be needing to start going thru the boxes in the garage marked "yard sale". Mr. Steady will be quite happy to see them out of his workshop. He's also looking through his "stuff" for items to sell. We're hoping to net approx. $300 from a yard sale this summer which will go towards replenishing our savings.
God is good.

Sounds like things are getting back on track! Yea!
Library cards are so neat for the kids when they get them. But it breaks my heart when they're old enough to have them! LOL!
