Thursday on my homestead

Accomplished so far: Girls off to school and Sam & I to the grocery store. I love going super early when it’s just me and the “old folks”- I get in & out so much faster plus I find I am not as tempted to buy things not on my list!

Dinner is ready to be put in the crockpot and I have left over homemade rolls and salad from last night to go with it. As well as birthday cake from Mads 6^th that’s got to be eaten up (since Sam’s birthday is Sunday- more cake!) Bought a GIANT jar of dill pickles @ the store for under $3 so I plan on cutting a few into spears for tonight also. I believe I was able to finish all my errands for the week including “stuff” for Sam’s birthday party. This is great for me as I am usually running to the store the day of the party for something we forgot.

Plans for this afternoon: one load of laundry and washing kitchen floor. Move at least one box of “stuff” off back porch/storage area to storage in garage. (This storage room is slated to become my new office sometime this spring.) Go thru and purge magazines. I have a pretty “light” afternoon so it looks like I’ll have some time to catch up on a few of the books I’m currently reading.

This evening: After dinner we are planning on having our weekly family meeting followed by family devotions. We have unfortunately gotten out of the habit and think it may be contributing to the steady downturn of behavior here.

We hope this will end on a good note with everyone praying together and striving to have better attitudes and better behavior (parents included!)

I hope to conclude the evening with some quiet time in my journal as well as some snuggle/quiet time with my Hubby.

Sounds like a great plan- weÂ’ll see how it all goes.
