My right-hand GalMaiden is gone today. She spent the nite at my parent’s last night and will again tonight. My mother had carpel tunnel surgery on her left wrist last Thursday and Maiden is staying with her to cook, clean and take care of her and her poochie, Lily during the day while Grampa is gone at work (she is staying overnight as it is easiest for everyone). I am so proud of her for doing this and I also miss her terribly. When Mr. Steady and I were snuggling in for the night last evening- I told him it was like leaving a door unlocked or window wide open because all our children weren’t home in their own beds for me to kiss and check on and protect. When one of my children is gone from home it is as if a limb is missing- I feel like some vital part of me is gone. Of course, Maiden being gone also means I am minus my right-hand gal. Sass is quite the trooper though- stepping up and filling in- in her own way. I don’t say anything- just sit back and watch and see what she’ll do. This, too, is part of growing and learning. Maiden has called twice about this or that- once to speak to her brother and sister. I think, perhaps, she may miss us a bit too. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 553 of 1515 } { Next Page } |
