Celebrating in Style

Tomorrow is my Mother’s birthday. My brother and I will be putting together a brunch for her here at my home. The kids are all very excited and have been zipping around doing various odd little chores to make everything spiffy for Nana. We doubled up on some of our schooling today so that we can devote our time to honoring Nana tomorrow.
We’ll be making a birthday banner and cards tomorrow morning as well as setting the most beautiful table.

Our Menu:

Pancakes (Lemon Blueberry and Buttermilk)
With choice of Maple Praline or Sun-dried Blueberry Syrup
(as well as whipped cream)
Cheesy bacon scrambled eggs
Sliced and diced fruit
Beverages: Coffee, Strawberry Kiwi Juice and Milk

We also purchased some flowers @ Aldi’s that I will make into a lovely bouquet for Nana to take home with her.
Nana has planned a fun birthday weekend . . . . Friday is brunch with us and dinner out in the evening- just my Dad and her. Saturday is a family picnic at a local park with working grist mill and hiking trails. Then on Sunday after church in the evening we’ll be finishing it off with cake and ice cream.
Now, I’m taking notes as I like the idea of milking my birthday for all it’s worth just like my Mama- a fun-filled family 3 day birthday celebration!

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady
My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
