It Worked!

Last nite, after putting the kiddos to bed, Mr. Steady and I noticed that Sassafras was coughing. Instead of sighing and trudging to get the cough syrup I was excited to try the new trick I learned with Vicks on the feet.
Mr. Steady gave me that look that says "Just how is this going to work for her cough?" But went along with it when I told him I'd heard about it while blogging and others reported success!
And Lo and Behold . . . . . Sass didn't cough the rest of the night!
Now I have another question- what do you do when they are coughing during the day? Do you keep putting Vicks on their feet? I think it would feel funny to walk around with that on your tootsies.

Our local paper carries a column by a Dr. Gott. His column is published throughout the US. I haven't heard of Vicks on the feet for coughing, but he has had numerous other readers write in for other uses. Apparently toenail fungus can be treated with Vicks instead of expensive prescription meds. The readers report rubbing it into their toenails every day for a couple of months and their fungus disappears. Others have said they use it as a hemmorhoid treatment with great success.
The other strange thing that frequently comes up in his column (non-Vicks) is people with nightly leg cramps that have them disappear by putting a bar of soap under the sheets. Very odd, but lots of people report it worked for them.
