Baking day and such
Today is baking day. So far Maiden made two Little Boy Blue Breakfast Cakes, I made spoonbread and plan on making my triple fudge brownies and Striped Delight. Sassafras made her fabulous Jell-O.The Little Boy Blue cakes are for Easter Breakfast- one for us and one for her aunt and uncle (my brother). The spoonbread and brownies are my contribution to the family Easter dinner tomorrow and the Jell-O is Sassafras's contribution.
We’ll be taking dinner over to Mr. Steady’s parents this evening. Mom W is recovering as best as can be expected from her back surgery. After dropping off dinner we’ll be heading over to visit my grandmother and an Aunt and Uncle visiting from Up North. We’ll be ordering pizza so that should thrill the kiddos! The girls will be hauling over some of their school portfolios to show off to an aunt and uncle who will be extremely excited and ooh and ahhh all over it. (Which will again thrill the kiddos!)
Mr. Steady's back improves a bit more each day as long as he is careful. He continues to alternate heat and ice on it when he feels it's necessary and stretches often. He is contemplating going to a chiropractor and just found out our insurance may cover part of the cost. We are praying that we will find a chiropractor that we can trust, who takes our insurance and who will also help Mr. Steady improve (2 of his brothers have had problems with chiropractors making things worse rather than better).

5:13 PM, 2007-Apr-7 .. Posted by thatdayI did some baking too this morning - bread and cookies. Later will fix a jello salad and veggie salad to take to my daughter's for dinner tomorrow. Our Easter will be smaller this year - I have been sick and Kathi has started back to college - so we are not planning much - just a little food and lots of fellowship. Then, naps, I am sure.

My Husband (DH)-Mr. Steady
My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.
DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.
DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.
DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
