I have a request for help

I have a request. To all homeschooling families- do you have a name for your little homeschool?
I have some information on homeschool student ID cards and they ask for a name- plus when my children graduate from this little homeschool I’d like to have A School Name for their diplomas.
Please share in the comments the name of your little homeschool and perchance- offer up some ideas to me????
Thanks!

I always call ours Stone homeschool academy. I use this to sign up for stuff on the web and when I send my letter of intent to the school broad.
You could call it some type of learning center.
Ex. Lisa`s learning center
or Lisa`s learning academy.
Good luck. I hope you get plenty ideas.

Here in Oklahoma, we don't have to file intent or anything like that...in fact, Oklahoma is the only state with written in the constitution that we have the right to homeschool. But when we began homeschooling we were in Panama I went ahead and named our homeschool: Davenport Academy of Home Education. I don't recall ever having to use it for anything except membership in homeschool groups but we have it just in case.
Hope that helps,
Vicki

We don't have a "set in stone" name quite yet. We call it Little Lamb Academy. I was homeschooled growing up, and I loved my mom's name for our school...Rapture High. She even had Letterman's (sp) jackets made for us!

I named our homeschool ~ Huber Hof Academy. I use it when I order over the internet for school supplies or if there are any freebie offers for teachers and they ask for your school name and address. I just thought it would be fun to have a name : )

A Co-worker's Homeschool

Amy, I do not homeschool, but one of my co-workers in NC does (mainly his wife teaches the kids). Their reason for homeschool was that where he lives the public schools are terrible, and 40% of kids are homeschooled in his area.
There are so many homeschoolers in his area that they have homeschool sports team leagues. The leagues have names, and they play other homeschoolers from other towns. It sounds quite elaborate.
They also have a network where a parent may offer a class to other homeschoolers. For example, if a dad has a degree in chemistry, he might offer a high school level chemistry class on one night a week and open it up to 8 or 10 kids outside his family. I know my co-worker's kids also take classes online.
Here in MD we also have the option of starting "charter schools". They get some state funding, have to meet state standards, but are like a large homeschool group. The kids then have to meet annual testing standards for the state to continue funding.
I also know of some parents in our school area who take their kids out of public for a year or two and homeschool and then return them to public. It is usually because a kid needs one on one attention for some reason. One girl in my daughter's 8th grade class restarted public school this year after 3 years out. We are fortunate in this country to have many options.
I am looking forward to hearing the name of your school. My daughter's school is named after the river in our area.

our name is Sycamore Christian Academy. It's our street name, not very clever but I like it.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
