The Nativity Story

I am so terribly bummed. I was planning on taking my youth group (and my 2 daughters) to go see The Nativity Story on Sunday afternoon. Our local theater has changed the movie times. They are now showing it only 1 time a day- at 9:40 pm. Being a 2 hour movie- it won't get out until 20 to Midnight. I have a mostly young (middle school) youth group and most of their parents don't like them out that late. And truthfully I don't want to be going to see a movie that late.
Obviously it wasn't a money maker for them so they withdrew the prime times for other movies.

What a shame yall can't go. Are the children on Christmas break? What would it hurt for them to stay out just one night considering what they'll be doing....I'm bummed for you. : (

I think it would be a good idea to ask some of the parents to see if they could make an exception. My husband took me and two of our boys to see it on Thursday. The movie was wonderful!!! Our boys aged 13 and 8 enjoyed it so much and commented throughout the story how it went along with the Bible really well. We really do need to support Christian movies, if possible, so they will make more.

Our youth group is going to see the movie tomorrow at 12:30 right after church. I have read reviews, and they were all very positive and said the movie was excellent. Unfortunately, the reviewers also said the theater was pretty empty. I haven't seen any advertisments at all for this movie. Do you think that if enough people from your church requested an earlier viewing that your movie theater would accomodate you? I guess everything is decided on how much money the theater can make for its space.
PS One of my husband's co-workers heard him talking to me on the phone yesterday about my shopping trip to Aldi's. Now this guy is taking his wife and kids there today to see what it is like. Another family will be saving money!

Our youth group saw the movie today. My girls told me there was also another youth group from another church there, and that the theatre was full (this was the 12:30, right after church showing). Everyone said the movie was well done and enjoyed it. I hope your group get to go.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
