Home Sweet Simple Home

Got me in the heart!

I was reading up on some of the blogs here and was spending some time over @ Kim Wolf's blog Wanna Be A Steader! Boy did she just touch my heart today!
First off, her post
Do You Ask God? hit me right in the heart. I have been praying and interceeding for others lately and have had some pretty big prayer concerns of my own too that I've been "letting slide". Let me share with you the comments I left on her post.
>>>>Kim, I so agree and I so needed to be reminded! I have interceeded in prayer for so many others and yet- my hearts desire- to purchase the farm- I have just been so timid to "ask" instead, I've been praying "Lord bring us clarity in this situation. Lord if it's not your will please take the desire from us." These are good and wonderful things to pray but I never had (yet) simply asked Him for the farm. What a revelation. I had to stop right in the middle of your post and bow my head in prayer and simply ask. Thank you so much for the blessed and timely reminder.<<<<
I am humbled. So often I feel like a child shuffling their feet back and forth, dipping their head down and trying to decide if their request is legitimate enough to ask. God says to us that He can't answer what we don't ask for. It's like us as parents- we know that our child wants the cookie- we see them standing  there eyeing the cookie jar, but we wait . . ..  we wait until they nicely and politely ask us for a cookie. I have asked for my cookie.

Lord, I am so humbled by you and your outpouring of love for me. Forgive me for not seeing more clearly and for so completely missing the obvious. Lord, B and I have a very deep, very real desire to own the farm. Lord, I am asking, if it be Your will, that you provide us the means and the way to make this farm our very own. Thank you Lord, for hearing my petition. In Jesus' name, Amen.

I would be remiss if I didn't add that Kim also had another wonderful post today about being PROUD to be a homekeeper/homemaker!
So here I stand on my soapbox and give a shout out . . . . [insert drum roll please] I AM PROUD TO BE A KEEPER OF MY HOME- WIFE TO MY DARLING HUSBAND AND MOTHER TO MY PRECIOUS CHILDREN. THANK YOU LORD!

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
