I meant to do my work todaybut a brown bird sang in the apple tree, and a butterfly flitted across the field, and all the leaves were calling me.

Hi Amy,
Here are our favorite crockpot recipes:
Crock Pot Chicken Breasts
4 chicken breast halves, skinned and deboned
2 T butter
1 can cream of chicken soup
1/2 c. dry sherry
1 tsp. dried tarragon
2 tsp Worcerstershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
4 oz can drained mushrooms, optional
Place chicken breasts in slow cooker. Mix all other ingredients. Pour over chicken. Cook on low 8-10 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.

Cooker Chops
4 pork chops (can add more)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 c. ketchup
2 tsp Worcestershore Sauce
Combine sauce ingredients. Pour over chops. Cook on high 3-4 hours or low 8-10 hours.

Pot Roast
3-4 lb. roast of your choice
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
2 T flour
1/2 c. cold water
1 tsp Kitchen Bouquet
2 medium onions, cut in half
6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
6 or more carrots, peeled and cut into 1-inch cubes
Places carrots and potatoes on bottom of slow cooker. Place roast on top of vegetables. Make a mixture of water, flour, salt, pepper, and Kitchen Bouquet. Spread mixture over roast to cover. Tuck onion halves next to roast. Cook on low 8-10 hours or high 4-5 hours.

Another one I frequently make is to take pork chops, cover them in a bottle of BBQ sauce, and cook on low all day.
I love good crockpot recipes.

Oh, thank you so much for sharing! I sooooo appreciate it. I'll be adding you recipes to my collection!
By the by- I didn't catch the debate last nite- my little guy wasn't feeling good. What's your take on it?

Amy,
Both did very well. Joe Biden didn't ramble. He didn't talk down to Sarah Palin. At the end of the debate, he gave a very good talk about why John McCain wasn't really a maverick by siting numerous examples of where he went along with the flow when he shouldn't have.
Sarah Palin didn't really answer many of the questions. After being asked one question, she said she would rather talk about energy policies and spent her 5 minutes doing that. She did much better than she has been doing in interviews. She brought up things Biden had said agianst Obama when Biden was trying to become the Democrat Presidential candidate. She talked in a very "folksy" way, which may appeal to the average American, but to me came across as maybe looking too inexperienced to the undecided voters.
Both were asked given the downturning economy, what things will your administration now have to cut that you wanted to implement. Biden talked about cutting foreign aid and mentioned some programs that were the highest priority and would not be cut (education, etc.). Sarah Palin basically said "I've only been doing this for 5 weeks, so I haven't made any promises and therefore have nothing to cut" and then spent her time talking about something else. I thought that was a really weak response, because if she doesn't know John McCain's plan for our budget by now, she should.
It was basically a tie. Sarah looked reasonably intelligent, Biden didn't ramble or lose his temper. My husband said he thought that Biden came across to him as being far more qualified to be President than Sarah Palin. In the end, most people don't vote based on the VP candidates, anyway.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
