 The Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my Window... I see the grass is in need of cutting and the garden in need of weeding. The sun is shining and a cool breeze is blowing. A truly beautiful day.

I am thinking... that today is errand day and I’m going thru the list of To-do’s in my head. It’s laundry day too.

I am thankful for...God’s constant presence and reassurance. All will be well.

From the kitchen...a snack must be made tonight for my homeschool moms’ meeting – Crockpot Buffalo Chicken Dip with crackers. Messy tacos for Mr. Steady and my little crew at home.

I am creating...messes. Boxing up items to be moved to the garage temporarily so that we can turn a storage/junk room into my office, then turn my office into the girl’s bedroom and the kids’ current bedroom into Mr. Conductor only’s room.

I am going...to Little Busy Town soon to run various errands with the children.

I am wearing... khaki capri pants with a pink T-shirt. Currently I’m barefoot but will soon be slipping on my brown leather sandals for errand running.

I am reading... The Island of Heavenly Daze series by Lori Copeland & Angela Hunt plus various homeschooling materials and a youth worker magazine.

I am hoping... that all will go well with the financial decisions made today, that my errand running will be efficient and frugal, that I will have all my notes ready for the homeschool group meeting tonight and that it will be a wonderful productive meeting. Lastly, I hope that the Lord will make me a blessing to someone today.

I am hearing...the water draining from the washing machine, the breeze snapping the flag in the garden and the children playing nearby.

Around the house... all those boxes need to be filled and moved to the garage, laundry washed & dried then the folding and putting away. Perhaps a loaf of bread made this afternoon.

One of my favorite things... budgets that balance on paper and in my wallet.

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week... continue packing & moving boxes, continue plans and preparation for 4th of July bash, continue working on curriculum, a visit to the library, celebrating my dad’s birthday, a sleep-over with some of the kids friends, a couple of family campfires.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you... a corner of my herb garden- the window you see looks in on my office- my desk is at the window.

My Husband (DH)-
Mr. Steady

My rock and biggest supporter. The glue that keeps the family sane. He is like deep, deep water- it takes a lot to see a ripple.

DD11- Our Maiden in Waiting- By the world's standard she's a 'tween'. By ours and the Lord's- this is the time of her years of preparation. She is eagerly learning what it means to keep a home and daily becomes more and more of a helper to her Mama.

DD8- Sassafras My Sassy middle child. She holds her own so sweetly and has such an empathetic heart. While real Sassafras is used for flavoring- She is that added spice of flavor to our family.

DS4- Mr. Conductor- The train aficionado in the family. He likes to think he's in charge and often is! He's also the biggest Oreo fiend in the family.
