Appetizer

From which country(s) are some (or all) of your ancestors?

Scotland (McFarlane, McFagen), Switzerland (Longnecker), Germany and Yugoslavia.

Soup
On a scale from 1- 10 with ten being the most active- how would you rank yourself.
I guess about an 8; maybe 9 in the summer. Having 10 kids keeps me hopping! But homeschooling, evenings reading to children/watching videos/computer time, and nursing a baby does involve a fair amount of time sitting as well. I try to include about 20-30 minutes of strength training in my weekday morning routine, and my husband and I enjoy a walk around our BEAUTIFUL mountainous countryside after supper.  Collecting firewood and hunting in the fall also helps me stay fit. Gardening, farmwork, cooking, canning, cleaning, laundry, (should I mention chasing after five boys 6 and under?)...so many things to keep me on the move!

Salad
You head into the pet store.  Which section do you go for first?

My favorite pets have always been dogs, and we have a (sassy) miniature dachshund right now...

Main Course
Name three odd or unusual things about yourself  that most people might not know (hidden talents, gifts, dreams, likes, hobbies, etc...)

1)I am a LPN and enjoyed working as a nurse very much. Left that to have children......I would like to work as a midwife one day, but never will because of the strange hours one must keep

2)I enjoy horses and hope to have my own someday when I have time for one

3)I was HOMESCHOOLED by my dad for seven years during the early-mid 1980's!!!! My mom taught the three younger ones...  That was in the pioneer days of homeschooling. We were enrolled in Christian Liberty Academy of Illinois. My dad (a pastor) also taught me New Testament Greek from the time I was quite young. (most people are surprised about that)

Dessert
How would you describe your sneeze?
Ummm, O-kAYYY....  uh-CHOO!!  (is that good?)

We live close to the PA Grand Canyon...actually, a trip is planned there this Sunday afternoon for a picnic and hike down to the gorge. I hear there are some pretty waterfalls on the trail...should be full with all the rain we've been getting :)
