Some plans

Posted in Our life

After that really deep and, to some perhaps, depressing post, I'll get more light here.

I saw this on another blog.  I wish I could remember where.  If it was yours be sure to comment here so you can take the credit.

Anyway, someone had copied the "future menu" from the frontpage of homesteadblogger and emboldened thier interests so I am just copying thier idea.

• Buying land • Alternative housing construction
• Alternative power supply • Field and container gardening
• Raising livestock • Butchering meat
• Tools and equipment • Survival skills
• Natural health • Grain farming
• Beekeeping • Organic pest control
• Cheese making • Spinning, weaving, and dyeing
• Cooking and nutrition • Canning
• Soap and candle making • Woodworking
• Quilting and sewing • Making pottery
• Herbal arts • Knitting
• Blacksmithing • Making hominy and corn tortillas from raw corn

These are some of my interests.  The only things I can do at the moment is sew and cook and take care of the nutritional needs (that's one of my full-time jobs right now, oy).  I have tried canning but not persevered, but I did like it.  And now that I have a/c (trust me, you need it in Ontario) I might work harder at persevering.   (I hope everyone caught that little play on words there.)  I am trying to teach myself to knit right now.  I also cross-stitch.  In fact, I would say, that is the only thing I consider myself good at...except sticking my foot in my mouth but that's for another blog.
