A little bit of my ancestory....

A thought crossed my mind...what a great way to share a little peice of me...family history....

Let me see...the first one I will tell you about is the one I know the least of....Here is a picture of my papa (mom's side)...He passed away when I was 2 years old.  I remember him only through the stories told to me.  But I love him because of those stories.  It is just a small part of my history and what makes me, well, me!  He was the first person I thought of after my father passed.  My baby was about the same age, 2 1/2...So it makes me feel a little better that she will have those sweet stories...I will share my favorite "memory" of mine...My sister's are 10 and 8 years older than I am...when I was a baby they had hulla hoops...I wanted one!!!  My papa took my momma's brand new water hose and cut me out a hulla hoop!  I have kept that hulla hoop all of these years..It hangs up in my room to this day!  It is a treasure to me...and I love telling that story to everyone that has ever asked, "What the heck is that?!"

swim & gym

Posted in daily life

Swim and Gym was great! We all get use of hte facilities for $25 for 5 weeks (on Friday)! I wouldn't go more than once a week anyway and we'll take Feb off cuz of our vacation. Since Joey moved from red necklace (which is hte I still wear floaties and am contained to this one small area) to the yellow necklace (which must be the I can't swim, don't wear floaties but will let you know if I"m drowning stage), I can leave him. The lifeguard today was VERy attentive and actually stood right by the area that JOey was in. This means that another mom and I can WALK in the gym while they swim! My boys really didn't get out of the pool (I didnt' figure they would) and it's totally contained. Plus another HS mom stays in the pool area. Mat's a green necklace (those are the only 3 colors) and has run of the pool.

After that we went to a store that I heard was closing. I was BUMMED to hear that! Well, I was REALLY bummed at the Y cuz I was told that it was already closed! I went anyway and it's not closed. Then to get Mat's crickets and then to the McDs. I ordered a med french vanilla capp like I always do and the total was outrageous! Turns out they have the new McCafe line. My sister warned me they were awful, but I tried them anyway. BLECH! I even sent an email to McDs!

So now we're home and Mat's friend is here and I'll put the chops and au gratin potatoes in the oven soon. His friend doesn't eat pork so we'll have supper after they are gone.

Lady Gracie

Posted in Gracie

Lady Gracie is a wonderful girl.  She was a suprise gift for our daughter Kristi after she lost her best friend beauty her horse of 10 years.   Gracie is also part of our breeding progam.

Gracie picked out Kristi.  We love that becuase she was able to pick on Kristi's breathing problems right away.  She wakes Kristi up in the middle of the night if her breathing is off.  Kristi will know then to go  wake me up and get on her breathing machine right away.

Gracie is a wonderful blessing to our home.  She loves to smile and be spoiled.  She was raised with one of our rescue kittens Blue, that some one threw away because she has deformed leg.  Watching them play is funny.  Blue does not seem to understand why his playmate grew so big.

Here are a few pictures of Gracie:

I will post more on her when I down load more pictures.

VOTM Pray Day Friday

Posted in VOTM Pray Day Friday

As you know I am a big supporter of  The Voice of the Martyrs and I want to remember our persecuted brethren everyday which was the purpose of IDOP. I keep up with things that are going on with the persecuted through many of their outlets: the website, Prayer Update Emails,  Twitter, the Blog and Facebook.
Since I receive their Prayer Updates on Friday I have decided I want to haave a VOM Friday Prayer Day. I will be sharing the week’s prayer requests for you to remember in your prayers, but if you would like to receive the updates in your inbox, you can sign up at VOMGroups.
So this week’s prayer updates are:

ERITREA – Approximately 100 Christians Arrested – VOM Canada
Since late November, approximately 100 Christians, including men, women and children have been arrested by Eritrean authorities, VOM Canada reported. The wave of house arrests began in northern Eritrean cities and moved to southern regions before reaching the capital, Asmara, on Dec. 12. Some of the detained Christians were reportedly transferred to a military facility and were severely mistreated. Local sources indicate that an unspecified number may have died due to untreated injuries sustained in detention. Pray for the release of those detained. Ask God to comfort those who have lost loved ones. Pray that Eritrean Christians will continue to follow Christ's example of faithfulness, even at great cost. Pray that Eritrea's leaders will repent and come to faith in Christ.
1 Peter 2:21
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

BANGLADESH – Christians Held Captive – Compass Direct News

On Dec. 10, 13 believers who converted to Christianity from Buddhism four months ago were forcibly held captive by Buddhist clerics and local officials in Rangamati district, Chittagong division, Bangladesh, Compass Direct News reported. In an attempt to coerce them to reconvert to Buddhism, the Christians were reportedly pressured into undergoing Buddhist rituals, such as shaving their heads and wearing saffron robes. According to local Christian leaders, believers in this predominantly Buddhist area often face eviction from their homes or bodily harm if they refuse to return to Buddhism. Pray that these Christians will be released unharmed. Pray that they will cling to God for their strength. Ask God to work in the hearts of those who oppose His followers in this area.
Psalm 63:8
My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

CHINA – Church Building Destroyed, Believers Beaten – China Aid Association
On Dec. 17, the officially registered Chengnan Christian Church of Tinghu district in Jiangsu province was attacked by a mob led by government officials, according to China Aid Association. Over 50 Christians were gathered for worship when police officers barged in and dragged several believers outside where more than a thousand people were gathered, including government officials and security guards. The crowd then demolished the church's office, training center and cafeteria and confiscated church property. Ten believers were beaten when they tried to stop the destruction. The church has faced ongoing harassment from government officials and had obtained a court order on the evening of Dec. 16 to protect their building from such an attack. It is suspected that the destruction was the result of officials and powerful businessmen working in collusion to obtain the coveted church property by force. Pray for these Christians in the aftermath of this attack. Ask God to give healing to those injured. Pray that those responsible will come to repentance and be reconciled to God.
Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
