Last Night for some of our group

Tonight is the last night for Kahlers, and Dave and Kristen and Paul. Cindy read the last chapter in the book we've been reading every evening. Then we decided to sing our theme song one more time"

Make  Me a Servant like you, dear Lord

Living for others each day

Humble and meek, helping the weak,

Loving in all that I say.

chorus:

Give me Lord a servant's heart,

Here's my life, take every part

Give me Lord a servants heart.

Help me draw so close to you that your love come shining through.

Give me Lord a Servant's heart.

Make me a witness like you dear lord

Showing the love of the cross

Sharing your Word, till all have heard

Serving whatever the cost.

As we started to sing Teresa started crying, then McKenzie, then Vanessa and pretty soon the whole place was choking up... we never sang  the second verse. We couldn't!!! This has been quite an experience together. Those of us who are left are really going to miss the rest of them. I think Jonah would hide in a suitcase if he could. He's a home boy and missing home and grandparents a lot.

Everyone wanted to hear the notes from home tonight... So thanks to all of you who write and pray for us. We appreciate that we are not forgotten!

I got some of the people to come over to see our fireplace and nicely set up abode... and now we have a dozen pairs of soggy shoes in front of the fireplace.

By the way, we have about 70 to 100 kids coming to VBS each day. Different group each week. I'll write mroe details on that later.

Better hit the hay.... have to be up at 5 to see off the gang that is leaving us. Blessings!

Hi Friends

I was Skyped today by Jeanne Stafford. She and Jeff along with Emily and Hannah are down in Tucson. I asked where Bethany was and Jeanne said she was in Africa! That’s right, you folk are in Africa now, aren’t you. Jeanne gave me your blog site and Sharon and I have enjoyed reading all that’s posted.

What’s Funza anyway? I Wikipediaed that and it told me: “Funza is a municipality and town of Colombia in the department of Cundinamarca”

Every Sunday we have a 2-3 hour class on practical preparation for facing hard times – building fires without matches, building shelters, edible plants, gardening, etc. Sounds like you all are taking the advanced class over there. Not sure I’m ready for the advanced class – Funza sounds a bit intimidating!

We will be praying for your work there and for your safe return.

The first thing I do when I get home from work is check the blogs. Dad and I have had some good laughs and sometimes a few tears as we read each entry.
I'm glad that Jon is feeling better and pray that everyone will stay healthy.
Jennifer's babies are doing well. They put a feeding tube in the little boy as he wasn't eating very well. They will be in ICU for 10 days. Their names are Sailor Genevieve, their going to call her Sadie. Something about nameing her after a grandmother.
Sean Gregory, Sean named after Sean Lund Darin's friend and Gregory after Darin's dad. I don't know if the spelling is right. Ben Bowen's wife announced it in church Sabbath.
I worked 7 1/2 hours Sunday cooking for the Historical Soiciety annual Harvest Dinner. We haven't heard the count but it was pushing 500 that attended. My feet hurt so bad by the time I got home.
The results of Dad's Q 10 test is 0.5. The range is 0.4 - 1.6. 0.5 seems low to me but the nurse said the doctor said it was in the range so it was ok. Do you remember what Jonah's was?
Last night we went to Cody's basketball game. They lost but Cody made two baskets.
We've had alot of rain and fog here. But I'm very happy it isn't snow.
We are happy to hear that Christina was baptized Sabbath and what a special memory to be baptized in Africa and by her grandpa.
It sounds like everyone is working very hard. But I'm sure it is very rewarding. I can't imagine having VBS for 70 - 100 kids. It must be fun teaching the kids about Jesus and seeing their faces light up when you give them gifts. I wish I was there helping.
Give our love to everyone. Please give a special hug to Jonah, Sam, Isabelle and Leila from Grandma Yvonne and Grandpa Tom.
We miss everyone and continue to pray for each one.
Mom, Yvonne
