Jon was really ill today... but he's up and around now. We were sure it was malaria... and some were sure it was strep throat, and he thought he was going to die. But he didn't. Everyone is fighting colds.
Bethany is very proud to be the first to get a funza :-) She showed off her band-aid to everybody and it seems like it must not have hurt too bad cause she took care of it herself. Kristen made sure that it was all out afterwards, though.
So nice to get comments from home!!! We read them after our story tonight.
It poured rain on us at VBS we were drenched to the skin on our way home. We got cold... but tonight we have a fire burning in the fireplace in the new house and my bed is right beside it :-)
Goodnight.
Being Sick

What a bummer to be sick. Jon, I hope you are on the mend by now. I understand what it is like to have malaria. Ucky, Ucky!
I am not surprised that Beth took care of her own foot. She is pretty tough most of the time.
Arizona is treating us well. We have been enjoying warm weather in the low 80's. Emily and Hannah enjoy swimming before school in the morning, after lunch, and after school in the afternoon.
We are excited about some of you coming home soon. Tell McKenzie I cant wait to have her back in Primary class.
Love and prayers for all...especially Jon.

Prayer

I was just reminded why we keep praying for you... We just don't know how things are going for you and what is needed but God does. Bethany, I don't know what fungi is but glad it is out or over. Jon we are glad you are feeling better, and pray you continue to get better. God is watching over each one of you.
I'm so glad that you are able to work on the buildings eventhough the container hasn't arrived yet. We'll keep praying that it will arrive before you leave. We can always find something to be thankful each day whether something big or small.

Hi to everyone, I have been reading the blogs and staying updated on your adventures in Africa....then I update Jim on it all also. You have each been in our prayers and will continue to be. Remember when the going gets tough ( or sick, or not enough food,or.....) you are being a blessing to so many people and to each other. Without realizing it each day, God is using each of you.
We are so proud of you Christina for your decision for Jesus. He has a wonderful plan for your life, stay close to Him and He will guide you through it. Blessings young lady.
I am curious about so many things but will save most for your return, but am wondering how many children you have at the daily VBS program? What is their response to each part of it? How is Layla doing in all the dirt? Should be good pix op's. I am so impressed with all the cooking you are doing. Feeding a crowd on an open fire, with limited supplies. I want to be in your camp in the mountains during the days of trouble. You can do anything..I am impressed!! Have you made a toilet seat yet for your 'hole" (5 gal bucket, both ends removed and put a toilet seat on top) works great.... While reading each of the blogs every day, I am also impressed with how hard you each are working including the kids in primitive conditions. Pat yourselves on the back , or each others back and praise God for the ability to be used. God is good.
News from our house: Emily will turn 15 next week. The Abundant Life church in Wenatchee is now also in our district. (Should get an intern for them next summer) I have been doing applesauce, gleaning walnuts and cooking food for Ryan. When we go to WWU or he comes home I am sure to send granola, bread, patties, soups, hotdishes, cookies, pie and more....plus canned fruit from this summer.
Ryan wanted to send Jason and Antoinette some cake mixes and toys for the girls in the last care pkg with Tom, but it was too full already so he passed. But be sure to give Jason and family hugs from Ryan and Chad. They are both doing great at school. Seniors. !! yeah.
Know that you are missed greatly...blessings, see you soon.
