Kibidula Again

Kibidula Again!

It is so nice to be back in civilization once again. Antionette had a beautiful meal ready for us starving people. Lettuce salad is a real treat!!! I had a hot, flowing shower and scrubbed all that orange, Mago dirt off me with a little brush. It feels great to be clean and sitting on a real couch instead of on my bed. Steve and I get a room to ourselves and I am looking forward to whole night’s sleep!

Getting here was interesting. Steve, Dave and the two big girls got up at 4 am and walked to the village and waited for the bus. I prayed that if it wasn’t going to be safe that they would miss the bus. It never came or they missed it. They stood in the cold for an hour then decided to walk to Lupalilo and meet up with my parents.  Mom and dad were supposed to pick up the rest of us at 7 am. They finally arrived a little late with a load of bricks and they had to go back for one more load. We finally left by 9:30. I was kind of glad to get out by then. Things were getting a little intense with the fundi’s plastering the inside of the walls of the room we were staying in. Somehow it added to the stress of the gals left behind to cook and feed everyone and it was just good to get out from underfoot before something happened.

We piled into the car and got out and got in and got out until we finally figured out how to get 13 people in one little pick-up.  Mom and Dad and Vanessa on the front seat of the car with Vanessa having to move every time the gears had to be shifted. Dakota, Kristen and Steve were in the back seat with me on top of Steve. Dave, Kenzie, Beth, Brianna and Christina and Justin were in the back on top of the luggage. Justin is mom’s SDA carpentry teacher and he was on his way to pay his dowry for a wife. It was a trip but we were here by 2:30, I think.

Antionette has muffins baking in her wood cook stove and it smells so good! Beth is busy entertaining the baby in the jolly jumper, Vanessa enjoying the piano (I think she was going through withdrawals.) Christina is having a shower and Brianna is playing with the little girls.  Dad is trying to find a cure for his ringworm and Steve is looking at Tanzanian maps and mom is enjoying a rest on the couch.  Jason had to run to town to pick up the Bible workers at the bus stop. Dave and Kristen and kids are at the guest house resting in blessed quietness.

I am enjoying being with family and looking forward to Sabbath.

I tried to post this morning, but my computer won’t pick up the signal strong enough, I used someone else’s computer and it didn’t have Word on it to transfer all my entries… Jason’s computer was busy.

We enjoyed a beautiful meal at the Riederer’s house. This is the beautiful Arianne’s family. They are from Switzerland and have been here in Africa for 10 years. I believe Thomas is the leader here at Kibidula. Vanessa had been blessed to get to know Arianne two years ago when she came to Africa for a month, then they went to Young Disciple Camp last year together. Arianne came out to the project last week and what a hard worker!!!! She most certainly outdid the boys on the end of the shovel and she is stronger than most of the women… (though, probably not Teresa  J ). She is Vanessa’s age and what a sweet personality!

Blessed Sabbath to you all!

I can still get the Grapefruit Seed Extract on Sunday and then catch the guys before they leave town. It has been suggested to help Isabella to stop throwing up. I want to be sure to get enough, how much do you want?

Sounds like the transit system was pretty crowded to Kibidula. Glad you made it safe and sound. News around here. I finished the apples on Wed. Got a couple more pickers. Picked a 101 bins of Fugi's which is the most ever. Didn't think we would ever get done but Leo has a big smile on his face after getting his check and bonus. We got the extenday up on Thurs and Friday blew out the spinkler lines. Mom came down on Thur for work. Had a hard time leaving as Jensis cried for her as she was leaving. I'm going to the Skamania lodge today for a Quiet Hour seminar. They invite people who give to their causes for the weekend but am only going to the day.
I'm still planning on going home to Cashmere on Tuesday and will get to work on your house as soon as I get some paperwork etc done. I'm going to have Leo come up as soon as he gets through picking apples for another grower, hopefully that will be week after next. I need to have him do some work around the house and he can help on your place. Got a note from Art and Julie lost her job so am not sure they are going to be able to go to Hawaii with us, but she wants to go so am sure they can work something out. Tell Kenzie and Coda Hi from us. Saw a picture of Kenzie on the other blog. We love and miss you

Appears as though the trusses are in place. Must be getting along with your projects.

Have a good Sabbath which you have had already and have a safe trip but your home base

Love

I am so glad that you were able to get a short break at Jasons this weekend. It was nice to hear about what everyone was doing on that Friday afternoon. I am glad that you were able to enjoy some of the comforts of life for a short while.
I hadnt had a chance to check the blog on Friday, cause I was watching the babies.
Tell Kristen that Addy is getting so big, and really likes to interact with people now. She gurgles and smiles, and really has the wiggles. Jenesis is talking real well now. There are still some things I dont understand, but somehow she manages to make me understand. She can say "Emmie" and "Hannah" real well. In fact she would walk around the house calling "Emmie, Emmie". Her and Emily liked to play a little game, Jenesis would try and buckle the straps on her highchair before Emily could finish playing a short little song on the piano. Jenesis would holler out "YYYYYeah!!!" when she had finished the buckle, and Emily would run and unbuckel it, then run back to the piano and start playing again. It was like musical chairs...sort of.

We had a nice Sabbath today. Jeff preached, Len & Doris Bates had special music, Tom K. had the childrens story, Janet Camberg played the piano, and Eldon announced that the conferance had changed the Cashmere, E. Wenatchee church district into a 3 church district. Now Pastor Anderson will have Cashmere, E. Wenatchee, and the Abudant Life church. I think everyone was a little bit shocked, especially since none of the church members were informed or consulted in the matter. Also, we will be getting another intern pastor sometime in late spring. I am sure Tom K. will be able to expound more on the subject when he gets there.

Please tell Kristen, and Isabelle, that the Primary Class is praying for them every week. We decided to let them know what we are doing each week. Today in class we worked on Ps. 27: 5-6. The girls are doing well, and Jared is keeping right up with them. I am sure that Mrs. Ford would be pleased to know that Jared is learning well how to do "choral speaking", nice and clear.
We are still learning a little more each week about "Clever Queen" in our mission story. Last week, the kids were not happy with me, cause I left them hanging in a very exciting part of the story. Jared told me that it was not very nice to make them wait a whole week, to find out what happened. Today, when I walked into SS, he told me that we needed to have the mission story FIRST so that they could know what happened next. I just had to laugh, and say that we would do things in their normal order, as always.
For Sabbath lunch today, we enjoyed tomato sandwhiches, from the tomatoes that you left us from your garden. How yummy they were. They ripened real nice, and were very sweet.

Tom K. has consented to bring the care package (suitcase) with him. Sherri, is sending more bandages in the top of it. There is a letter for Bethany from Emily in one of the outside pockets. I feel really bad, cause I didnt get a personal note put in it for Beth. Friday, was just to busy with the babies to watch and laundry to do, and Sabbath coming sooner, and halloween. Because of halloween, we had to darken the house early to keep the "trick or treaters" away. So I am going to have to type her a note on your blog I guess, or are you able to check email? In any case. please tell her that I love her and miss her very much. We pray for her several times a day. Tell her that Kendall and Lacey enjoy reading this blog, and learning about what she is doing in Africa.
About the care package...I tried to put things in there that would help make meals a little more special. The first time I packed it, Jeff came and lifted it and said that it was probably around 20 lbs TO HEAVY. Sooo, I took everything back out and tryed to slim it down. That was very hard for me to do, cause there was so much I wanted to send. Oh well, I tried again, and still it was 10-15 lbs TO HEAVY. Finally, Jeff got me a smaller suitcase to put it all into. When he checked it he said that it was close. So we took it up to EFI and weighed it. Sure enough it was only 42 lbs. He said I could easly add 5 more lbs. Well, that wasnt hard. I hope everyone enjoys at least one thing from the package. I tried to think of what everyone might enjoy. Please have fun with it, and tell the kids to share all the fun stuff with everyone.

Love and prayers for all,

Jeanne
