We had our first frost Friday night. The upper garden looks desolate. Brianna and I picked all the peppers, pimentos and tomatoes, the last of the leeks and onions and eggplant this morning. The lower garden was only lightly touched with frost and there are still huge green tomatoes down there, however there won't be anyone here to pick them, so this is the final blog entry dedicated to the 2008 garden experiment. The pictures aren't so pretty as a few weeks ago, but it's all part of the cycle of a garden.
I am going to have to freeze the peppers quickly today. It shouldn't take too long if everybody pitches in and gets the job done.
This is one huge pepper. It was suppose to be yellow, but it didn't have enough time to finish growing.
This is a picture Brianna took on our Sabbath walk yesterday. The leaves are beautiful. This is where a landslide caused the river to re-route and take over the road. If you look really closely you can sort of see a little of the first snow on the top of the mountain.
Mmmmm...

Mine is about done as well. Frost hasn't come yet, but it will soon. I need to pick the last of the peppers and tomatoes as well. Looks like you are pretty much set to go. Perhaps the frost came to let you know it's ok to be done with the GARDEN and not worry about it anymore.
Me... I've got apples to make into sauce... I'm just so not excited, but our first batch of applesauce is almost gone... So, canning more would be worth the effort. *sigh*
LOL,

We Miss You

Hi everyone
We are really excited to hear and watch what you guys are doing. It sounds like I made the right decision for not going with you (maria). Our church just isn't the same with all of you gone. We miss seeing all those wonderful faces we have learned to love and cherish. Things with Michael are not too good right now, trying to figure out what to do next.
The weather here has really been nice during the day but chilly at night. Certainly can tell fall is in the air and winter is right on it heels.
