I can't say they are all like that. I do have some over crowding issues that I am learning from. I knew it was a possibility, I just didn't know how close I could safely plant. After reading Square Foot Gardening I thought I would be on the safe side, but I see that next year I need to be more cautious. It's looking like we'll be having hot eggplant sandwhiches quite soon! But here again, the plants on the outside of the rows are doing better than the ones crammed in the middle and some of my plants are too tall. Another thing I learned is you can't plant a solid bed of greenbeans four feet wide and 8 feet long... well, you can. Picking them is another story! This is my main source of dill right now. My other plants have not matured enough, but this one keeps going and going. The mint is really a nice variety. Peaches are unbelieveably good this year. This is Harmony Hollow. Things are looking tinder dry on the hillsides...But the orchards in the valley are looking lush and green.
