I love my scale....today!
I have finally broke 150lbs!!!!!!
I'm not "suppose" to weight myself but once a week & that usually occurs on Saturday morning but I have an overwhelming urge to hop on it before then. As is the case this morning. I didn't want to get on b/c I was afraid it would say the same ol' same ol' but it finally told me what I have been working my butt off (literally!) to read.....149.6 lbs!!!
I'm on my way!
My plan?
Eat half as much as I usually eat & exercise more.
Pretty simple? Yes & no.
It's kind of hard to know when to quit eating. I've been so used to stuffing myself until I KNOW that I'm full but now I have to learn how to eat until I'm satisfied. That's hard! But I'm in it for the long haul. I've come too far to quit now.
So as of today I have lost 11 inches & 3 lbs.
135 lbs here I come! That would be a dream come true!

Country Music = 5 1/2"!
Are you a little confused with the title?
Let me explain.
I'VE LOST 5 1/2" IN 2 WEEKS BY LISTENING TO COUNTRY MUSIC!!!
Nov. 17 I started working out....more!
I had been doing light weights Monday, Wednesdays & Fridays & then on Tuesdays & Thursdays I would go to the gym & walk on the treadmill for 30 minutes. That worked well until I quit going to the gym & walking. I put back on all the inches that I lost! Well, then I decided to just walk outside around my block. I think I did that once before it got too cold. Hmmm....what to do? Our gym membership is over! So I decided to continue with the weight lifting on Mon., Wed., & Fri. but to also do my stepper for a half hour EACH day! Yes, that's 5 days a week! Let me tell ya, the first day I thought that I was going to throw up! I tried doing the stepper & watching my Little House series but that didn't work very well b/c I just couldn't follow the story while exercising. Then I decided to do the stepper while watching CMT. That's the ticket! It's working! Music just makes everything easier! It also helps to see all those skinny women singers. Kind of motivates you! I want to be skinny too! ~Smile~
So I lose inches but I don't lose weight! One out of 2 isn't bad! As long as the body gets smaller! I don't lose weight b/c I like to eat! I get very agitated when I have to give up the food that I like to eat. ~Smile~ I would rather exercise than watch what I eat! I only have to do that ONCE a day! lol!
Keep moving those bodies ladies!

Waiting to lose weight
www.allposters.com
I found some answers to why I'm not losing weight just yet so I thought that I would share them in case anyone else out there gets discouraged.
I found this at SparkPeople.com

I just started exercising to lose weight, but I've gained weight. Why did this happen?

It's true that many people either gain a little weight or don't see any change on the scale for as long as 4-6 weeks after making a significant change in their level of exercise. This is often explained as "gaining muscle while losing fat" but that isn't quite accurate. This extra weight is usually water.
When you start doing more exercise, your body begins storing more fuel in your muscle cells, where it can be used easily and quickly to fuel your workouts. The process of converting glucose (carbohydrates) into fuel that your muscles actually store and use (glycogen) requires three molecules of water for every molecule of glucose. As your muscles are building up glycogen stores, your body has to retain extra water for this purpose. That's what causes most of the initial weight gain or lack of weight loss. This is a good thing—not something to worry about.
However, despite what the scale says, you are actually losing fat during this time. The extra water retention will stop once your body has adjusted to its new activity level. At that point, the scale should start moving down. You'll end up with less fat, and muscles that can handle a larger amount of work.

You hate me don't you?!
Have you ever watched Little House and heard Nancy Olsen say that?
YOU HATE ME DON'T YOU?
Well, that is what I wanted to scream at the scale this morning!
I started dieting & exercising (yes, again!) on March 17. This time I weighed in, took my measurements and then put the scale away. I HAVE NO SELF-CONTROL WHEN IT COMES TO WEIGHING MYSELF! So....I took out the bottom drawer in my bathroom cupboard, put the scale & the notebook with my measurements in the space under the cabinet & put the drawer back in place. It's not easily accessible this way! LOL!!
So that's been 2 1/2 weeks since I started. I got on the scale this morning & I haven't lost an ounce! NOT ONE OUNCE!!! Maybe the scale is broke?! I haven't gained any but still. So after getting dissappointed about that I decided to take my measurements, maybe that would show some numbers. HA! I lost 1" on my bust (why does the weight always come off of this part first? It just makes my stomach look bigger if my bust gets smaller! UGH!!) & 1" off of my hips. BUT....I gained 1/2" on both thighs so yeah, I've only lost 1" total!
My husband has been dieting & exercising for 1 week and it said that he lost 7lbs! WHAT?! This scale is wacky! He said that our scale is way different in numbers that his work scale (they are doing a weight loss challenge at work). I told him that I'm going to buy a new scale! One that says what I want it to! LOL!
So, not a very good start to my day. I do feel better & have more energy & I THOUGHT that I was looking a little slimmer but maybe I just need glasses!
