Studying God's Word / Frustrated with man's ways!!I am so thankful that I am in Bible Study Fellowship. I have met 3-4 really great gals, who dig deep into His Word.........My notes this week, are frustrating. We are talking about Matthew 26:1-46 Ok, for starters, in the notes....they are teaching that the Lord's Supper has replaced the Passover. That is a huge load of garbage. The Lord's Supper, was a meal Jesus had with His disciples before He was crucified. Nothing more. Then on to the questions. One question is worded like this: What does Judas's kiss show about Jesus' continuous, affectionate relationship with His own disciples?(Matt 26:47-56) Um, it was custom in that day to greet one another with this kiss. I am told, it is STILL the same custom. Nothing more. Nothing less. It 'appears' they are trying to pander to 'women's feelings'. Barf. The Bible is CLEAR about how much we are to trust our "feelings" and even our own "hearts"..............that would be none at all!!! It's irritating that they don't dive into the Greek or Hebrew to get the original word and its original meaning. They just work on 'feelings'. Grrrrrrrrrrr Another irritating question: What do you think the Lord thought and felt when He looked at Peter, as recorded by Luke? (Luke 22:54-71) OK once again, the original Greek word EMBLEPO means this: The verb implies a close and penetrating look. Our English word is just "look". So there you have it. If you look up the Greek you will know this is the "kind" of look Jesus gave to Peter. HOW DARE I try to 'think or feel' what the Lord 'thought and felt". Scripture says this: 1 Corinthians 2:8-9 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 However, as it is written: Footnotes:
On the good side..it does cause me to dig deeper into His Word. It does cause me to look up the Greek and the Hebrew. It does cause me to talk to the Lord more, and ask Him more questions. It does give me hope that 2-3 other ladies in the group have similar concerns and frustrations as I...... I guess this is why God tells us to Hide His Word in our hearts? It's just sad to see people just accepting what is fed to them, nodding their heads like they are on an episode of oprah. God's Word is so clear..................... 08:30 - Tuesday, April 29, 2008 - post comment

Description 1 Timothy 1:15-16 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life.
