Tired

     Hello everyone. Hope you are having a wonderful day. I finally have an appointment with a NP. I will go tomorrow afternoon and get some blood work done. Then we will go from there. My thyroid is acting all kinds of crazy. Extreme highs and lows.

     I have found out what has been waking up my ds at night. Me! Can you believe it? I have horrible allergies and my nose is closed up. It has been this way since Nov 1. (They say that not having your thyroid under control makes it worse) Anyhow, sometimes the inside of my ears itch. (Weird) In my sleep, I clear my throat  which helps make my ears not itch. Sometimes, I wake myself up making the noise. Anyhow, I woke myself up a few nights ago and then my son woke up screaming. He wanted to know what the noise was..... Me! It would be very funny if I wasn't keeping myself and him up at night. Tomorrow should help this problem also.

     I haven't gotten any Christmas decorations up yet. I really don't have the energy. If I have some energy today, I will get the stuff down from the attic. If I do the work in pieces, it will not be so bad. This will be another simple holiday. We had a very simple Thanksgiving and it was the best on of my life. So I will take that theory into Christmas. Allergies

     Yuk! I hate allergies. I am up tonight because I just can't sleep. Tomorrow, I will deep clean the bedroom. All the allergy protectors will come off the bed, all items will be washed in very hot water, I will spray the room for dust mites and everything will be vacuumed twice and dust. Doesn't this sound like fun? When I spray, it has to be left for at least 3 to 6 hrs. I use to use a sprinkle on the floor but can't find it any longer. By Monday, I should notice a difference in my allergies. Not feeling well from my thyroid has put me behind on this task. It needs to be done about every two months but I haven't had the energy. Tomorrow is the day no matter what. It is affecting my asthma. I have had to use my nebulizer (sp) the last two days. The fast acting inhaler would not due the trick. I try not to play when it comes to my asthma.

     On a better note, We went Christmas shopping today. We had a good day. Dh was on call last week so he was ready to get away from the house. Our family had lunch at a favorite Mexican Restaurant in another town. Yummy! By the time We were finished I was tired. When ds went down for a nap, so did I. I was thankful that I felt better to be able to go with the family. I haven't accomplished the grocery shopping for the week. I do have a menu for the next two weeks along with a list. This a goal for the next year, to have a more detailed menu every two weeks. I would love to have my menu planned out like YPAmy5 does. We will see. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday. God Bless. I

Pic of New Machine

     Doesn't it look just like the picture of the other two 301's? Yes. Now we have three. We picked up the sewing machine on Monday with NO problem with the directions. I went the new "loop" and didn't have any problems at all. Mapquest didn't have these directions. They still showed the old way.

     DD had a 301 that was portable. The bed was longer so it didn't fit into a cabinet. It was sitting on top of a old pedal cabinet and was to high for dd to sew comfortable. Dh and I talked about the situation and I traded the "301" for her portable 301. The new machine has a nice cabinet and she is "sew" happy. The new machine was mine for about 24 hours. Now dd is the very proud owner of a 301A with a cabinet and I am now the proud owner of a 301 portable machine. All is good. It was like Christmas morning. Last night, We cleaned all the machines, oiled them and lubricated them. It was like an assemble line of 301's. I have a picture of the new machine. Hope everyone has a blessed day. I

New Sewing Machine

     Why am I up so early? Am I Crazy? Yes! I was suppose to get up at 5 but I kept watching the clock so I decided to get up out of bed. I am driving to buy a "new" sewing machine this morning. If all goes well, I will be there by 8:30, purchase it, and be on the way home. Please keep me in your prayers this morning. I am directionally challenged and this is a new place(20 yrs since I have been to this city/ never this place) for me. My dh gave me directions last night and it was VERY frustrating. This is when he is from MARS and I am from VENUS or whatever. lol. I am not sure if directions should be the Number One cause of DIVORCE in America.  I am going to look over the direction while the house is quiet. If all else fails, I will go the long way. Thanksgiving

     Hello Everyone. I hope you had a wonderful day, yesterday. My family did. Simple but wonderful. It was just the four of us for dinner(lunch to non-southerners). We decided to have a simple menu because dh was on call. The food would have to be kept warm until dh returned. We tried all new dishes and everything turned out wonderful. Talking about the menu change seemed to help. No surprises when we didn't have sweet potatos or sage cornbread stuffing.

     Everyone but dd took a nap after dinner. When we got up, We took a drive. I was shooting (camera) old barns. Since I got a new camera this is my new goal. We had to stay close to home, incase dh got a call, but it was nice to get out of the house. We just had a simple day. This is hopefully how we will also spend Christmas. God Bless. I

Clean House

     The house is CLEAN! I finished everything this morning. Praise The Lord. I cleaned the carpets last night so I had to revaccum this morning. I also had to mop the kitchen floor. All is done. I had to run some errands this morning and accomplished them all. I also have all of the dishes ready to go in the oven, tomorrow. DD has one to complete, the corn, and then she will be finished.

     I let a friend of dd's come for the day. The friend was good but it is hard having a child come to your house who never does anything at home. She does not pick up after herself, does not do her schoolwork, NOTHING! Her mother thinks she has ADD. Today, the child picked up after herself, played sit down games and listened to direction.  Oh well. DD had a wonderful time. Hope you have a blessed day. I

Quilt finished (pic)

     The quilt that was suppose to be finished weeks ago is finished. I am just glad that it is finished for Thanksgiving. It is really a very large wall hanging.  The block is log cabin in the ziz-zag pattern. The colors are similar to my small wallhanger that is pictured under my profile. The huge wallhanging is in my living room. This is my sewing area. One of the Singer 301's in mine the other dd.

     Today is going to be about cleaning. Their is always a few extras to do for deep cleaning. I will clean the carpets for the holidays. This job is not my favorite but still needs to be done. Dh is on call over the holidays so dinner will wait if he has to go to work. Simple. It helps not to plan anything to big. Hope you have a blessed day. I

Debt

    Debt. Such a ugly word. So many people are in debt. Our country is crazy for debt. More stuff. Didn't matter that people would lie on applications for credit. They wanted the house, car, electronics etc. When they got the latest toy that wasn't enough. Another toy was purchased on credit. Now all the bills are due. What to do? Not pay. I am not talking about the people who lost their jobs with no warning. I am not talking about the people who got sick with no medical insurance.

     I was 7 months pregnant with DS and very sick. Morning Sickness, Day, Night , all the time. Dh back was horrible. He was getting ready to have surgery. We went into a meeting at his job. To see about  benefits or maybe another position in the company. This meeting did not go well. They told him tuff stuff. No position for you.  No temporary disability and keep your job. If you used up all of your time you would be out of a job with the company. Dh had worked with the company 18 1/2 years. That meant no early retirement. Dh had enough time saved to get his surgery and heal. Ofcourse, after he went back to work the pain continued on...... In this time I tried to stay positive. The Lord was leading me in a direction to become debt-free. I felt my eyes open up. I prayed. It took longer for dh to get on board but his is there. What a blessing to work as a team. Our last debt is the house. Lord willing, our short goal is to be under 30,000 dollars by Jan 31.

     One thing I wanted to say is my dh works everyday in pain. He is providing for his family. Please keep him in your prayers. I think I have found a new procedure for his back (surgery). He doesn't want it right now because their is always the chance that he will have to retire. The other point is that it doesn't matter how much money you make, if you spend more than you make something has to give. Cutting back or making more. Those are the two things. (I am not talking to the people who are unable to work and such) People at dh's job spend money like crazy. In debt up to their eyeballs. Still buying. This is everywhere. I am off my soapbox. To Early

Hello Everyone. I hope everyone is cozy and asleep. lol. DS is getting up at 3am most mornings. Not really up, more like crying a little and going back to sleep. Any suggestions would help. I check on him and he is back to sleep most nights.

The other night I was sleeping away. I was dreaming of shopping at CVS. I was comparing prizes of pencils. Over the intercom, my ds's voice tells me, "Mommy, I done sleeping now." I am still dreaming but I know the voice isn't right. Something isn't right. DS is suppose to be home asleep because I was shopping by myself. I quickly wake up and my ds is standing beside my bed telling me that he was done sleeping. It was 3 in the morning. Anyhow, I explained to him that it was night time and he had to go back to bed. Cute child. Love him. Hope everyone has a blessed, sleepful night. I

Wednesday and a pic

     Hello everyone. Feeling better today. Ds only woke up one time last night. I had a good nights sleep. My energy level was okay yesterday so I am hoping to get a few extra things done today. This is the week before Thanksgiving so I am in deep clean mode. I am trying different things this year. It will be a back to basics year. Just simple. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?

Early Morning

Another Early Morning or late night. Not sure which. I am almost to tired to think. DS was up at 4am so I checked on him and off he went back to sleep. I couldn't go back so quickly so I decided to finally blog. My thyroid is still giving me trouble but I feel like with time all will be better. I am learning to cope a lot better. DS has been waking up every night for the last 3 weeks (last two teeth). This seems to be worse than anything. I am a person who needs her sleep. I am trying to catch a short nap on really bad days. This seems to help.

Sunday was a wonderful day. I am hand quilting a printed wall hanging. I was able to sit and just quilt most of the evening. What a blessing. Hope everyone has a blessed day. I

Busy Day

Yesterday turned out to be an extremely busy day.  Our family had a wonderful time at the concert. Our homeschool group had a wonderful time. We had a picnic, afterwards, at a local park. Dh started feeling bad but didn't tell me until we were in the car on the way home. He thinks he had a migraine. The drive home normally takes an hour. There was a accident on the road and had traffic tied up. It took us two and a half hours to get home. DD had piano class and we had enough time to run in the house, check my messages, and take dd to piano. On the message at home, our neighbors wanted dd to come and visit. (Someone was coming over and they wanted dd to meet.) They wanted her there at 4:00 PM. I got dd back home from piano and off she went next door. Normally our days our easier. Back to the "real" world

My vacation is over. DD is on the piano practicing. Our school day has already started. The house is clean and I have a few things on my list to do today. (I need to throw away my list.) We will have a quiet day at home. Tomorrow we are going on a Homeschool Field Trip. Dh is taking the day off work to come with us. There is a educational program and then we will have a "picnic" lunch with others from our homeschool. I am sure that we will have a good time.

DD had a wonderful time on Saturday. She attended a "movie" party. I think She made some new friends. I must get off and get busy. I am going to bake some cookies for tomorrow. God Bless. I

Potty Training

This started out rough. How could a week and a half feel like a year? I had my shoe peed (sp) on and other things. I learned to be quicker after that. lol. Anyway, after a week and a half something clicked in my son's mind. He started doing everything by himself. Praise The Lord. He is still having a few accidents but he is doing so wonderful.

We got all the chores done last week. That is a blessing to have them done. I was beginning to feel as if I would have to have a vacation from my vacation. Oh well. All is good. Hope everyone has a blessed week. I

Debt

     Debt. What a yucky word. We had a repair man come to the house yesterday. He and his wife have been friends with my dh for years. The man is a Christian. We started talking about Dave Ramsey. (One of my favorite topics-Debt Free Living) He told me how much he was in debt. He said that he has been listening to Dave on the radio. Of course, I filled him in on the website and his books. I told him that I would have loaned him my books but I was to cheap to ever buy any. I checked them out at the library. I encouraged him to do the same thing.

     I tried to let him know that he was not alone. The great thing was that he knew that he had a problem. He just has no way to “fix” the problem. I told him about our situation and where we are now. I told him how we cut back and “acted” like we were broke. He looked at me like I had two heads. Lol.  He asked me about going to a store and purchasing something that he WANTS. (I was blunt.) I said that you couldn’t afford it. Stay out of the store. He asked was he only supposed to JUST go to Food Lion for groceries. Of course, I said yes. He didn’t get the point. You can’t spend money that you do not have. You can’t WASTE every penny on STUFF when you will not have gas money the next week. It always amazes me about what people think about money. This is the reason that our country is in a crisis. I just ask that you pray for this family and all the others. I know that the Lord put me in a situation yesterday to teach someone. Some people don’t have a clue on how to survive. Busy Day and Pic

I am glad we took the week off from school. We have been busy. The house is clean and a lot of extra chores are done. My kitchen cabinets are clean and  touched up with paint. Maybe tomorrow We will get to some fun stuff. Our quilt is calling to me. It is saying, "Sew, Finish ME!"  Anyway, we picked Japanesse Persimmons (sp) today. We have a tree that is loaded down but our neighbors usually pick them. This year Mrs. B is not feeling great. The kids and I picked about half today. Last year the deer (we think) got all of them. Monday

     Our Homeschool is taking the week off. Praise The Lord. We have completed our second 6th week. It is time for a "short" break to do some other things. I have a list of things to be accomplished this week. Cleaning will be at the top of the list today. Deep cleaning will continue this week but will be spaced through the week.

     DD and I have some projects that we are working to complete. Our quilt, learning to knit, and a clay nativity scene. I will try and post pictures when we complete all of our projects. This will be a lot of fun working on our projects. That is not work. I think for Supper today, we will have left overs. No use in cooking when I have several things in the frig.

     On my list is to clean out my closet and room. More stuff will go to the Salvation Army this week. Hopefully that will be all for a while. Maybe until the next 6 weeks are complete. I need to switch Summer and Winter clothes. This always takes up some time. DS only has one pair of jeans (down from the attic) that fit his waist. Skinny waist and longer legs.

Rough Week

Potty training is NOT fun.  Maybe it is for others but not me. I forgot I wasn't the one being potty trained. I will be glad when the process is over. lol. DS had a very rough night. He kept waking up which means that I didn't get any sleep.

I feel that I could stand on a chair and start screaming!!!!!!!!!!! I am off one of my meds for my thyroid. Need I say more. It has been horrible. I could cry and scream at the same time. The new stuff is working but it will take a long  time. (Maybe 6 months. Yikes) I am trying to listen to my body. Hypothyroidism is hard on your body. I feel like I am crashing into a brick wall. I am trying to take a short nap when this happens. Oh well.

Potty Training and other Crazy Ideas

I have decided to start potty training my ds (3). Not sure why I had this brilliant idea. Oh well. The process has started. DD and I finally found some plastic pants to cover the potty pants. I have been looking for them for a few months. I have 13 potty pants and this may not be enough. (Hopefully that is a joke)

DD and I pieced together the log cabin blocks last night. We have done a lot of unsewing on this project. Dh has pitched in and helped. I think he has enjoyed helping. I will try and post a picture as soon as I get the border on.

Today is going to be about potty training, cleaning, washing clothes and school work. Doesn't seem like much. lol. I hope to get an apple pie backed for supper. Hope you have a blessed day. I

Quilting, Cleaning and Homeschool

Yesterday was packed with all three. DD and I are working on a log cabin quilt. (wind mill) We have all the blocks made (20) and now we will work on pressing and squaring the blocks. DD and I have been working on our twin Singer 301's sewing away. This will replace the (huge) quilt that we have hanging over our sewing area. Dh has enjoyed seeing us working on our quilt. He picked out the placement of the blocks (windmill).

Before We started on the quilt, I made sure the house was clean and in order. This way I feel so calm about doing on my favorite things. What a blessing it is to be a stay at home mom. I have such peace when I am able to do what the Lord intended ME to do. What a blessing.

This morning on the news, a woman who left her child in the car (the child died) . She was an assistant principal at a school. Her routine was broken that morning, and she "forgot" she had the child in the car. I believe that the husband normally took the child to the babysitter. I just felt her pain. Over worked, overwhelmed and this was the result. I believe that it was just a horrible accident.

When ds was born, I did not sleep. He did not sleep(scream). I took dd to and from public school everyday. I almost went to sleep one day while driving( I nodded off). (I didn't do that again/scared me to death) Anyway, If I  would have had to hold down a job while doing this; no telling what would have happened. I have never been so TIRED in my whole life. I could not  think clearly. (Not sure that I can now. lol.) I am just Thankful to be able to stay at home with my babies. God Bless. I
