Wednesday, November 5, 2008 - How to pray for our country? |
Chammomile tea may be in order today...
In the shadow of this election, I was hearing everyone last night saying how we need to pray for PresElecObama and all. I don't dispute that.
Wasn't it Daniel that got on his knees to repent not only for himself, but for the sins of his nation? He knew his situation, slavery under pagan kings, was God's Judgement. Did Daniel or any of the prophets specifically pray for the health and prosperity of their ungodly kings or captors?
I see people wanting to continue praying for blessings on this country. When do we realize this country no longer deserves it and a Just God cannot let it go on much longer. He's blessing His people individually, but I wounder if America has stepped too far over the line. I'm not the least "scared" over the past few months of economic breakdown, or last night's results. DH and I have had a real calm, and the LORD has blessed us abundantly this year. We are out of debt and capable of being nearly self-sufficiant.
I worry about those who beleive everything will be okay if they have enough faith and get enough people to pray... We've been living on borrowed time in the US.
I hope I don't sound pessimistic (I'm horrable at spell'n sorry) I'm excited for the Messiah to come back, and THAT is what I'm praying for, not to further postpone the enevitable...
We should always be prepared for catastrope. This is the last days! Watch out. Don't hold up treasures here on earth that can come to naught (ie the US Dollar, vehicles with payments, and homes in Mortgage)...
I beleive we need to be praying prayers of repentence and praying for the LORD to come quickly.
I look forward to more comments!

Daniel chapter 9 depicts the prayer of Daniel and yes he does cry out and says they had become wicked and gone after false gods and idols.......
Remember though daniel did a great work for the lord because he was placed by king Nebuchadenezzer and his heart was touched and he became a believer......so God can touch the heart of rulers......so yes we should pray that God does the same for Pres. Elect Obama..... we are praying God places "daniels" around him to influence him in godly ways.
The day of judgement has come..... as Joel stated..... and it's time to sound the trumpet.... America needs to repent and humble themselves.......
May God forgive us,

| This country no longer deserves God's Blessings??? I am part of this country, and I am a child of God, and this may be one of the stupidest things I have heard yet today. |

| Sorry to upset your applecart. Check your scripture. And if you can't leave a name and give references, don't bother commenting because for me you have no credibility. |

To the person who left the anonymous note...... none of us "deserve" God's blessings...... the bible says we deserve "death" ... because each one of us is a sinner..... it is prideful to think we "deserve" anything from God..... for Paul says the "wages of sin is death". Praise God, He loved us enough to send His son Jesus - that whomesoever should believe in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." ( John 3:16)
I just had to add that... because it really does throw me a loop when I hear American's say "God bless America".... God does not have to bless America.
Blessings,
