Tiany at "Less of Me, More of Him" is having a Blogoversary Party! She is giving away a gift basket with some of her favorite things, and she has asked everyone to tell some of their favorite things on their blog. So here are a few of my favorites:

  • The movie "Gone With the Wind" - I could watch it over and over (and have)
  • The book series "Anne of Green Gables" - Anne was my inspriration when I was a girl, and still is
  • old black and white photos of my relatives - I don't even know who half of them are, but I love to look at them and imagine what their lives were like.
  • Bath & Body Works aromatherapy eucalyptus spearmint candle - I got this as Christmas gift and it has fast become my favorite candle in the world. So relaxing!
  • Ball Blue Book of Preserving - A big help to a beginning canner like me
  • Hoover SteamVac SpinScrub Carpet Cleaner - Kids, dogs, red mud - this thing saves my sanity where my carpets are concerened
  • Estee Lauder Pleasures Intense perfume - I like to use this perfume unless I've recently used an herbal lotion.

By the way, have you heard of Raising Godly Tomatoes? If you've never heard of Elizabeth, her 10 children, or her methods of raising children, you should definatley check her out. I've been a fan for awhile, and now Elizabeth has a book out! She is giving one away on Tiany's blog here.

We have a pretty good carpet cleaner too. It's been wonderful to have. It came in handy when we had an inside dog. Now, where we live, we also have red mud - and LOTS of it when it rains.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Gone With the Wind

That is funny that GWTW is your favourite movies (and many other peoples favourite movie as well!) I had always heard how good it was, but had never taken the time to watch it. I finally put it in the DVD player awhile back when my husband was away on business and I was looking to fill a few hours in the evening. As soon as the movie ended, I phoned him and told him how disappointed I was in it and that I would absolutely never watch it again. I just hate when the guy and the girl don't get together in the end!!! (grin!) I couldn't believe that I had spent all that time watching such a terrific movie, only to have it "spoiled" in the end.

I was happy to see that you had recommended the Blue Ball book for canning. I have heard it was supposed to be good. I would love to learn how to can, and will likely check it out now that I see it has yet another glowing recommendation.

Thanks for sharing your list.

There is a sequel to GWTW??? I have never heard that before. Perhaps the movie may redeem itself after all. (Big grin!) As long as the story continues and the guy and girl fall in love and live happily ever after, all is right in my little corner of the world. I do agree that the movie, costumes, etc. were all fabulous. My only problem was with the ending not working out the way I wanted it to.

Have you ever seen the movie City of Angels? Although the story line is a little far-fetched, with an angel falling in love with a human, the romance factor is there. However, just when the two have overcome everything and are finally able to be together, and be blissfully happy...well, I hate to give too much away, but suffice it to say, that a girl on a bike and semi truck are no match. And that is how the movie pretty much ends. I ranted on that movie for ages, and still "threaten" my husband when we watch a movie that, "This had better not be another City of Angels, or I'm finished with it!"

I guess I need to go and check out the sequal to GWTW at some point, so I can get a new perspective of how it all works out.
