STRESSOkay, this has NOT been a easy day. First thing this morning Alli, 15, started whining and crying. She is at the age where she is trying to deal with things like cramps and mood swings. She had to go to her room until she could calm down and we could start school, so we got a late start. Then Justin, 12, didn't want to do his copywork. He pitched a crying fit for about two hours. After which time I made him do his copywork anyway, before he was even allowed to eat lunch. He's finally doing it now, at 12:30. After he does his copywork and eats he will still be required to do his literature and then his chores, which Alli has already done and he SHOULD have already done by now. In the meantime, as I type this, Adam, 4, is in the corner, screaming at the top of his lungs. He was allowed to play with Justin's Legos while we did school, but only because he agreed to put them away afterwards. Now he doesn't seem to want to do that. So he is in the corner (he's already been there 15 minutes). He will continue to stay there until he decides to pick up the Legos. He knows he can get out any time, as long as he goes straight to picking up the Legos. I am stressed. I have tomatoes that desperately need to be canned before they spoil, I had planned on baking some bread (or trying at least, that’s a work in progress), and Hubby is due home at 3 p.m. I would like a moment alone with God to refresh myself, but the Tonight I have to help with the church youth group, cook dinner and plan for tomorrow’s school day…. UPDATE: I had to stop before I could even finish posting this. But I am happy to report that both boys have done whatever it was they didn’t want to do and are now eating a late lunch. Alli is in her room watching a movie, and – I hope – that I will soon be canning… after I drink a strong cup of hot tea. After all is said and done, I praise God that I have the opportunity to stay home and “train my children in the way they should go,” so that they will not depart from it.
