Sunday is here
Good morning! I trust everyone will have a peaceful day to worship and rest this Sunday morning. Pictured above is Adam, who always has a peaceful morning when he plays with his wooden train set! Hmmmm.... it's funny - I never notice he needs a haircut until I see his picture somewhere! Right now Adam is in the bathtub, the two older kids are dressing for church and Mark and I have taken a minute to drink a cup of coffee and do what we need (or want) to do on the computers. This is a good time to give you some updates on the family, and ask once again for your prayers. If it seems that I come to this blog asking for the prayers of my sweet, wonderful friends in blogland all the time, it probably is! That's because I greatly believe in the power of prayer. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that prayer can change things. First, let me say that Big Mama is doing much better. She would probably be back to normal if it wasn't for that foot, but now I have my doubts that it will ever heal. We tried to put her back in the coop, but the other chickens will no longer accept her. They wouldn’t stop pecking at her. She is now handicapped and isn't like them, so they will slowly but surely peck and peck at her until they beat her into the ground. Doesn't that sound like life sometimes? Do you know somebody who is "different" and gets picked on all the time? Sounds like something that would happen in a kid's school, but I have seen this happen anywhere - including church. Grownups are just less obvious. Instead of openly picking on someone they talk behind people's backs and don't invite them to dinner. We are building another small coop for Big Mama. Hopefully, she will not only survive, but thrive without all the others pecking at her. We have one chicken that is more docile and not aggressive at all, so we may try to put "Nugget" in with Big Mama and see what happens. I'd hate for her to have to be alone from now on. Unfortunately, we recently got our monthly water bill. The bill was $300 so now we are trying to figure out a way to pay that and trying to figure out if we have a leak somewhere. Some happy news: Mark has a job interview tomorrow. It may or may not be something he can take even if he is offered the job, as we don't know if the pay would be enough to live on or if they offer health insurance, etc. But please pray that it goes well. And last but not least, a huge prayer request. Mark has been getting unemployment for a month and half now, and at the last possible minute his former company decided to appeal the state's ruling. Although they are not saying anything that hasn't been said before, the corporate office doesn’t think they should have to pay him unemployment. We have a hearing scheduled for Aug. 21. We are trying to scrape up enough money for an attorney, as I am sure they will have one. There is a lot at stake. If we lose, not only will we be back to no income at all, but we will have to pay back everything he already received. Please pray that God leads us to win this case. Well, while I have been blogging I have been stopping here and there to help Alli fasten her necklace and tie her sash, talk to Justin about “just because he's tired doesn't mean he can skip church”, and get Adam out of the bathtub and dressed. So now I must shut down so I can get myself dressed and get us out the door in 30 minutes. Have a blessed Sunday. Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 88 of 168 } { Next Page } |
