Giveaway #1

03:36 PM, Tuesday, July 31, 2007 .. Posted in Giveaways .. 2 comments .. Link

Okay, last week when the blog Rocks in my Dryer hosted a Dog Days Giveaway, more than 400 blogs participated. Each one gave something away and paid for the shipping to the winner. I entered those who had items I thought I could use and actually won a book and a couple of FlyLady CDs. I was thrilled, and am anticipating the mail each day until they arrive. (You have to understand that I never win anything, so this was very exciting!).

I was too busy with VBS last week to get something together, but I feel, even in these financially trying times, that I should post my own giveaways now. Here is why my husband and I feel this would be appropriate:

1. I have been blessed and so now must "pay it forward" and bless others.

2. Even if I hadn't been blessed, I should bless others. God will send these items to the people who need them most.

3. It will help me declutter the house!

That being said, I will giveaway at least three things this week (maybe more), so keep checking back. Some of the giveaways linked to the Dog Days Giveaway had more than 100 people trying to win the same item. Because I am not linked to that contest (who knows if anyone actually reads this relatively new blog anyway), your chances of winning are much greater.

Here are the rules:

1. Just leave a comment (on this post) telling me why you want or could use this particular giveaway.

2. Leave me some way to get in touch with you - either an e-mail or blog address.

3. Leave only one comment per giveaway, multiple entries for the same giveaway will be deleted.

4. I will pay for shipping to any U.S. address. Sorry, I can't afford to ship internationally at this time!

And now, with no further ado, Giveaway #1

Okay, so this really can't be described as decluttering my house since I bought this one specifically for this giveaway. I got this today (for a really good price) at a local Christian outlet store.

It is the book "I'm Too Young to Be This Old!" by Patricia "Poppy" Smith, put out by Bethany House Publishers.

What woman hasn't looked in the mirror and wondered who it was staring back at her? Or gasped at how grown up her children look? Or puzzled at how her friends are aging prematurely? "I'm too Young to Be This Old" shows how to face your changing life with a spirit of fun and fearlessness. It leads you through the lighter side of mid-life, the deeper issues of the heart, and the outward cocnerns of life.

LOL! That title fits me perfectly! I am 38 and already have salt & pepper hair. I look older than I and have had people ask me if my dh is my son! EGAD! Albeit I am 7 years older than him but still... come on.. I don't look that old... or do? :(

Sounds like this would be a great book to read for encouragement, etc. Something I could use... some days more than others.

You can find me at http://laurawilliamsmusings.blogspot.com Hope to see you pop in some time.

I am also 38. I have a much younger brother that people take for my son alot and since he is only 16 years younger then I they either think that I started way to young or I look very old. My oldest child just turned 12 and I cried. How can I have a child this old and where did time go?
If you so choose me it would be great but if not then I will keep reading your blog and see if there is anything that I could use but if not I will not enter.
Thanks for the chance
