Early morning fishing
Boy, am I tired. We got up at 5 a.m. this morning to go fishing. The whole family went and we had a good time until it started getting very hot! Everyone caught a fish except Adam (who couldn't sit still long enough to catch one), and yours truely. Not sure what I was doing wrong, but within seconds my worm would get nibbled off the hook by tiny fish too small to get the hook in the mouth. I don't like to put worms on hooks, and Mark wasn't getting to fish because he had to keep putting worms on my line every couple of minutes. I finally just gave up and walked around the lake with Adam. Who said you have to catch a fish to still have a good time with your family! The photo above is Adam with his cane pole that his Daddy rigged up with a reel that was really an empty thread spool. We try to make him wear a life jacket on the pier in case he falls in. This is Justin fishing off the pier.
This particular lake is situated at one of our local Boy Scout campgrounds. It is only about three miles from our house. Because Justin is a Boy Scout and I am a registered leader, we are allowed to go any time we want and bring any guests - as long as we are with them. There is usually not anybody else there if we go on a weekday. On the weekends various packs and troops are camping and fishing. Here is Alli with her fish and Mark as he fished off the pier.
