I thought, I would pass on to everyone that I found Ball canning lids for a $1.00 box. I found them at the Dollar General Store. I also found the Ball bands and lids for $2.00 a box. I bought six boxes of the lids and 2 boxes of the bands and lids. I am going next week and buy up a bunch of them. I don`t want to wait up till canning time and then not be able to find them.
Thursday, we went to the feed store. On the way there, I noticed, all my neighbors garden spots. I had noticed they were bigger spots and some had even added more garden spots.
Hopefully Monday or Tuesday, I will plant my corn and beans.
You are right, its best to shop around now during the "off Season" of canning otherwise you risk the chance of not getting them when you need it, the thrift stores are great about carrying canning supplies as well, I got 2 boxes of jars with lids(brand new) for a few dollars.
Thank you for the tip on the canning supplies! I'm currently in stock-up mode and plan to head there tomorrow or Monday to pick up a nice supply of them!
