Homestead- OUTSIDE monthly to do list

07:40, 2008-Jan-15 .. 1 comments .. Link

I have a few inside spring cleaning and monthly "to do" lists...  but I was wondering if anyone had an OUTSIDE monthly TO DO LIST.   Things you try to do each January, February, etc...

If so would you please share?

Thanks

I hope this helps - it's from my own list:
re-organize shed/garage (as weather permits),
order plants and seeds,
have A/C unit serviced,
clean outdoor grills,
weed control,
touch up painted trim on house if needed,
clean out the entire dryer vent (to the outside),
clean outside windows,
shake out /get new entry mat,
clean off the doggy door outside area,
inspect fencing for rot and leaning,
schedule spring maintenance for vehicles or wash vehicles,
till the garden plot,
start the compost pile/bin,
arrange for a visiting rooster to fertilize eggs for hatching,
tidy up and/or sweep front and back porches,
yard work/ animal area clean-up,
vet appt's., renew licenses for animals, set up animal files for the new year,
Drain sediment from Water heater: After consulting your hot water tank owner’s manual
Have well water tested for quality. * test for bacteria every six months.
Septic tank: measure by eye, the sludge and scum level to determine if the tank needs to be emptied before the spring. Tanks should be pumped out at least once every three years.
Test plumbing shut-off valves to ensure they are working and to prevent them from seizing.
Inspect house siding for splitting, looseness, warpage, etc.
At least this will help your brain wrap around the idea.
