Here's where you'll find me these days; it's something I have longed to do for a good while so please keep SGL in your prayers.  I'm also here at HSB2 at Beekeeper Dreams and in the shade of the Front Porch some, too.  School is getting ready to start and you'll find me scratching my head at Jacobs Academy, too.

Y'all Behave!

It is SO very hot today.  It's already in the mid-80s and it's only 9:45am.  Who knows how high the mercury will climb by this afternoon.  The boys are here from Pittsburgh, so we're all going to a local amusement park to play miniature golf and the boys will ride some rides.  I can't believe that when I met the boys they were 3 and 5.  Now they're 7 and 9!!  I feel so old!  hahaha!  It was so nice last night, Logan snuggled with me while he watched TV before bed and Theo snugggled with T.  Made me feel like a good uncle!  :)  Well, I bet I lose 10lbs of water weight today in the heat.  I guess I shouldn't complain!

Blessings,
Jason

I seem to have strayed from my diet... not writing in my Diet Journal and not walking because of my sprained foot.  Darnit!  I went to Barnes & Noble today with my sister and I bought a Diet/Exercise Journal that I hope I faithfully use.  They say that people who write down everything they consume lose more weight than those who don't.  I've also become a vegetarian.  It's day 7 and I've had no cravings for meat.  I haven't had red meat since I was a child, but I did eat chicken and fish.  So it shouldn't be that hard to stick to my new diet.  Well, that's all for now.  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,
Jason

I'm asuming my foot isn't broken.  Becuase besides the first half hour when I first wake up, I seem to be able to walk almost normally.  Today my father got off work early for some reason.  So, I made it a point to go over and visit with him after I was done visiting my grandmother.  I helped him water the garden, which is thriving, finally.  I planted some cauliflower last week and it's starting to grow now.  My tomatoes here at my house were dry as a bone this afternoon, and the bottom leaves were turning yellow, so I gave them a good drink.  I can't wait to get some 'maters and give them away to family & friends.  Well, that was my uneventful day.  I'll update more tomorrow.

Blessings,
Jason

I think my foot is feeling slightly better today.  I kept it elevated for awhile, and I made sure I took 800mg of Motrin every 4 hours.  Well, I have some sad news.  My turkey (well, the neighbor's turkey that has been hanging out at my parent's farmhouse for months) well, Turkey got killed today.  She was sitting on her nest in the hay field and a tractor that was cutting the hay chopped her up.  :(  So it was a sad day on the "homestead".  See, my father and I were up at the garden and I noticed alot of feathers about twenty feet up in the field.  He walked up and gave me the sad news.  But, the eggs that she was sitting on all survived, all 10 of them.  Well, my father got this idea that he would put a few of the eggs in the nest in our chicken coop.  I'm not sure if the chickens will sit on the turkey eggs or not?  I guess we'll see...

Jason

What a day today was.  I sprained my foot.  It's absolutely killing me!  I'm in so much pain.  Wendy told me to take Motrin and prop it up and maybe even soak it in Epsom salts.  I looked like a cripple walking into the drug store to buy my motirin.  People were staring at me, but I couldn't help but limp.  Today was my cousin's wedding and I made it thru the wedding itself, but I couldn't stand the pain at the reception... So I had to leave after about 10 mintues.  I feel like a wimp but this thing really hurts!!!  I wonder if I broke it??

Blessings.

Well, I weighed myself a bit early because I was worried that I gained weight.  I actually lost three pounds!  So now I'm back to where I was because I had previously gained that much.  It feels so good to lose weight, I must say.  I had my doctor's appointment in State College, PA yesterday.  My sister went along with me so I didn't have to go alone.  I hate driving up there, but since it's a college town, and summer's here, there were alot less people walking around, so that was a good thing.  My doctor put me on another medication.  *Sigh*  Just what I needed.  After my appointment, my sister was absolutely starving (and so was I) so we stopped at a nice restaurant called the Prospector's.  We went all out, appetizers, entre, and dessert.  I did this because ever since my sister had her baby, we've had very little time when we could just hang out JUST us.  So, it was very nice.  We taked and laughed like the good ole' days.  Not that since Lilly was born that things haven't been nice, but you know what I mean.  Well, that's about it for today...

Blessings,
Jason

Well, I gained exactly three pounds this week.  I'm not complaining at all because I totally strayed from my healthy dieting and returned to late night eating and fast food.  Ehhh...  But, I would like to say that I'm not giving up and that I wll certainly continue on.  I need to go to the grocery store ASAP and get more healhy foods and I need to start walking again. The weather forecast looks absolutely wonderful, so I have no excuse to not get outside.  Last night was the cottage party at Raystown Lake.  We all had a great time.  I was the first to leave, of course, but that's usual.  Everyone was saying how frail my grandmother looked, and it really got me down.  I don't want to hear stuff like that at all.  I mean, she's my grandnother for goodness sake.

Blessings,
Jason

Boy did we have a storm last evening.  T and I were on our way to Raystown Lake to have dinner at my family's cottage.  There were tree branches being blown across the road, we had to dodge them as we were driving.  The local news reported several trees blew down in my town of Hollidaysburg.  Thankfully, I remembered to move my tomato plants under the overhang on my back deck because I was afraid it was going to hail on them, which would have probably killed the plants.  I had such a good time at the cottage.  My relatives from Virginia were there, too. Couldn't have asked for a better night!

Blessings,
Jason

Happy Birthday to my New Chauffeur!

15 years ago today....er, a few hours from now, I was awakened with a distinct pain in my lower back. Not just any pain, but the very "uh oh" pain of birthin' a baby contractions.

This was at 3:30 a.m.

One problem: our first born child was not due to be born until July 18......some six weeks later.

Clearly, our first born had his own schedule and by the time we arrived at the hospital by about 4:30 a.m., there was no turning back - the baby was going to be born - 6 weeks early.

6:50 a.m. - Sam was here, 5lbs, 5 oz.'s. and 24 hours later, they sent us home. First time parents are never really ready for their first "baby" and, truthfully, I believe I sat in shock for the next 6 weeks until his original due arrived.

Life with Sam has been much like his arrival into this world - a blazing path before him to conquer on his agenda. It has been an amazing blessing to watch him grow and to share life with him - not, however, without its challenges - but a joy every minute of every day.

And today, he turns 15 and becomes his Momma's personal "chauffeur"!!

Happy Birthday, Sam!
I love you,
Mom
