...Is selling this house.
Which we have been at for 8 months or so. My dream house. Well it was. Life changes, and sometimes brutally so. You have two choices. Adapt and move forward, or get swallowed up in grief and misery.
So the perfect house for us 3.5 years ago...is a torment now.
But I digress.
We have a conditional offer on this house, from a family who loves it. They are getting it at a much reduced price and I was Ok with that (although the dh was less so) because they were expecting their 3rd child and this was now *their* dream house. I actually felt pleased that we could do something like that for someone. Now they have postponed the final date for waiving the conditions until the 13th. I was ok with that. The holidays and all. But it is looking like they may ask for another extention.
The thing is the closing they insisted on was March 1st. Until they firm up their offer we can not seriously buy a farm...and it's Jan. 6th....finding and buying a property and arranging for closing etc in 7 weeks is not going to be easy.
I may have to step in and be the bad guy here.
Dear Prospective Buyers....
Much as we love that you love the house, and have child #3 on the way and therefore need the space, you need to get your ducks in a row and sign off. Because *I* also have a life and children and obligations and tying us up so we can't market the house yet can not move is frankly making me cranky.
And lo, you do not want to see cranky Dar....
In other news we are going to see a property in an hour....my 2nd time seeing it...Irish's first. It is further out than I wanted and not as large (4 acres) but it has the right combination of amenities for Irish and potential for me, and is in good shape. For some reason though, my gut is holding me back. Maybe I'm just being over cautious or maybe I am waiting (in this busier post holiday market) for something else to come along.
So much uncertainty...I think I'll have a cup of tea.
