8 facts

{ 23:26, Monday, July 9, 2007 } { 2 comments } { Link }

The rules are simple:
Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog. (I may not get around to that part, either!)

  1. I grew up in a house with plywood walls and open beamed ceilings, which were actually tree branches that went from one point to another with more plywood layed over it leaving a 4 inch gap between the top of the wall and the ceiling. Momma always said it was nice to have constant fresh air:P
  2. I met my dear husband at a Boy Scout camp while participating in a training camp for adult leaders. (he was the cutest boyscout there):P

  3. When I was 10, my uncle took my brothers and I to Catalina Island off the California Coast. We took the dingy to go to shore but got sidetracked and found a sea slug on the rocks on the jetty. We got it into the dingy to take it back to my uncle to share our discovery. When we got back to the boat and he peeked into the dingy he shouted "Throw it back right now!" too late! It exploded and covered us, the inside of the dingy and his chest and face with smelly purple icky goo! Needless to say we swam for a little bit before he'd let us back on the boat:)

  4. I was an extra in two movies way back in my previous life:s

  5. I love banana's, I love chocolate...I can't stand chocolate covered bananas.

  6. I sew Civil War clothing for reenactors and plain clothing/coverings for modest Christian famlies.

  7. I met the Doobie Brothers when they came to the Childrens Hospital to bring our Cassandre a Christmas in November.
  8. I was blessed to be able to hold my sweet daughter Cassandre Elizabeth as she passed on to Glory in 1985, when she was 3 1/2 years old.

You have listed 8 very interesting things, some of which I would love to hear more about. I am also so sorry for the loss of your baby, that is the most hardest things we as mothers will ever have to endure.
Thanks for tagging me, Im honored.

~~Blessings!
Thank you. It is true that losing a child is a hard thing for certain. But I am blessed that I had the opportunity to know her before she was called home. I was blessed to be able to hold her and tell her that she could go to the arms of her Saviour. She was only on loan to me and God intended that she not suffer on this earth for long.
God be with thee!

Thank you for tagging me.. I'm sorry to hear about your loss of your daughter..
Would love to hear more about your stand in at the movies..
What projects are you sewing now?
Thanks again..haflinger

~~Blessings!
Thank you for your kind words. I do miss her. Sometimes more than others but I rest in the joy of knowing she is free of this earthly bond.
The movies? I was very involved (in my previous life) in theatre and such. Once upon a time I had an agent, did cattle calls, appeared in several movies as extras and even a few speaking roles (never anything big). Then I had a child that I never intended to have (let alone 8 of them):P I chose...my children became my life and my old life was left behind:)
Sewing projects? Lots! :P I am making dresses, dresses and more dresses:) When we are not sewing for the business we are trying to get our winter dresses and such done. Along with several shirts and a couple pair of britches for husband (much needed). We'll get down to making our winter panties come October but we are nearly finished cutting those out and will bag them for when it's time.
God be with thee!

What Your Thanksgiving Meal Says About You
When it comes to the holidays, you follow and love the big traditions. You look forward to them every year.

You see the holidays as a time to be close to loved ones. It's a good time to reconnect and make memories.

You like the aspects of the holiday that remind you of your childhood - opening presents, treats, and old favorite foods.

During the holidays, you are likely to feel comforted. At your worst, you feel a bit over-indulgent.

You consider yourself to be a bit of a purist, and you're proud of it.

You tend to spend your holidays sharing and pitching in. You'll do whatever needs to be done.

It's likely that you spent a lot of time outdoors as a kid.
You feel comfortable and at peace in nature. You identify with Native Americans.

You are a truly helpful and giving person. You like to lend a hand.
And while you do your best to do the right thing, people haven't always been kind back to you.
