Blessings!

Well, today was quite the learning experience. What a blessing it is to be given these opportunities.

We spent the afternoon helping out the President of our Dairy Goat Association with her herd assessment. We have purchased two does and a buck from her. Her herd is so wonderful and she has taught us quite a bit over the few months we've known her. The girls were able to ask questions and learned what to look for in their own goats.

I will admit it was a bit of a challenge for the girls and I. You see, she had a woman helping her after she seriously injured herself in a fall a few months ago. Within a few weeks after she got home from the hospital she, she found this woman had been abusing her goats. It was a hard and sad situation and she fired the gal.

Where am I going with this?...Well...this woman wore dresses and a hat while tending to the animals. The challenge?...remember? We are Mennonite and what do we wear? Dresses and kapps! These poor goats were not very trusting of us at all. It took some time for each of them to warm up to us. Although a couple of them were still a little nervous, I think we won over most of them:)

We learned how to use an automatic milker (not sure I like it) and how to hold the goats while showing and such. I do not have very good balance and so most of the animals I couldn't hold on to but the girls did really well.

CaraDD and her Maddie were with us for the first couple hours before they had to leave so it was CaraDD that was doing the showing. Then she abandoned us and well...:P (just wondering if she's reading):P

Anyway, we had a great time, learned a lot and are so sore and tired that I am more than ready for bed!:)

Tomorrow CaraDD is coming over and we are going to make a few batches of soap and have some coffee time:) And perhaps the younguns will enjoy a swim:)

   God be with thee!

Sister Lori

What Your Thanksgiving Meal Says About You
When it comes to the holidays, you follow and love the big traditions. You look forward to them every year.

You see the holidays as a time to be close to loved ones. It's a good time to reconnect and make memories.

You like the aspects of the holiday that remind you of your childhood - opening presents, treats, and old favorite foods.

During the holidays, you are likely to feel comforted. At your worst, you feel a bit over-indulgent.

You consider yourself to be a bit of a purist, and you're proud of it.

You tend to spend your holidays sharing and pitching in. You'll do whatever needs to be done.
