I think I fixed it
Blessings! Well, I think I've fixed the problem:) I got a wonderful email from a sister here that told me what to do. So I did it and hopefully ya'll can see my pictures now:) Well, maybe not ALL of them because the ones that even I can't see, I can't remember what they were! In addition to this little moment of triumph, we had a lovely day today. I only had one little errand to run so we were able to just be home all the rest of the day:) Animals fed, goats milked, house cleaned up, and best of all, a sweet visit from our favorite people:) My dear friend came over with 3 of her 4 littles as her husband had a thing going over at the local school (he's a math teacher). Not only did all the children spend most of the afternoon in the pool but we were able to run out and grab some extras (much needed) and we had a BBQ! We had KBobs, vegetable/dip, crackers/cheese/salami and rice. It was soooooo tastey:) Brother Craig is a wonder with that BBQ:) We have tri-tip for tomorrow and he wants to BBQ that too. It's clear that summer is here:) We will do most of our cooking on the outdoor grill from here on out. I have a BBQ oven that we will use for doing some baking and such out there too so we won't overheat the kitchen. We still haven't managed to get the outdoor kitchen finished up (so may projects) so until we do, the BBQ oven works well:) We are still expecting eggs to hatch out between the 12th and 16th. Everyone is so excited:) It will be our very first "homegrown" since our new life began:) I am having a bit of trouble with the other Muskovey female though. She's been picking on Delta. Even the drake has been trying to drag her away from Delta but she just won't relent. We aren't sure if it's jealousy or if she's going to be a difficult duck:s Depending on how she behaves once those babies are hatched will depend on whether she ever has the chance at her own nest:P She just might serve us better on the table. We'll see. Platinum (our little sick goatie) has recovered beautifully and we are so relieved:) She is back with her buddies and is doing very well. She is also still giving us milk! We still aren't drinking it at the moment until we are certain there is nothing to worry about. I'm wondering if I should get a mastitis tester to see if her milk is alright. I wonder if it would show staph? She doesn't have mastitis (we know that), but perhaps it would show any abnormal levels of something in her milk. Hmmm, I suppose I should phone the vet in the morning. We have an electric front loading washer that we use typically during winter only but here lately it's become "convenient". I don't like that it's done that again so tomorrow we are going back to the washboard:) I really enjoy that much better anyway:) Brother Craig is going to string a new clothesline for me:) It will be a permanent line but the landlords don't and it won't be expensive at all. This way I"ll have 4 lines at once instead of only one so we'll be able to do blankets and towels and such at he same time without worrying about overloading the line:) I have a batch of soap that needs doing tomorrow too. I have the herbs to do them, just need the motivation:) Our garden stuffs will be getting going tomorrow too:) I have a lot of plans for the placement of things and need to get plants into that ground out there. Every time we "plan" on getting it done, something always seems to come up! I will take pictures to share with you tomorrow. (I hope) My dear friend has used the square foot gardening and she loves it. That is what we planned this year so I'm hoping and praying it works well for us. We have tilled a much smaller area than I would normally dig up and according to what we've read, it should be more than enough space and we'll even get some extras in there:) Lord willing, it will all come around:) It's awful late and I should be to my bed. God be with thee! Sister Lori { Last Page } { Page 214 of 239 } { Next Page } |
