• Thursday, September 11, 2008 - Getting Caught Up!!!

PHEWWWWWW!  I am plum wore out!  I have been going, going, going and going since Saturday morning!  We started out the day on Sat. by going up to our storage and looking for my large area rugs I kept from my moms Estate, so I would have them to put into my cotage house.  We were there at the garage for a bit then headed off for  lunch, got groceries, ran errands, came home and got busy on the cottage house.  We got all the construction gunk cleaned out of there, swept it out, did some caulking, got my scrapbooking tables moved in and moved the couch into place.  Then Kerry got busy starting the construction of our new chicken coop!  :-)  Well that was all on Saturday alone!

Sunday we got up and got ready for the 9:00am church service as we were finally visiting the church that Dakota is attending AWANAS at.  We are in the process of searching for a new church home and I must say I wish we had already found one by now!  :-(  I just dislike the "searching" so.  Then we ran to Mendards and got the stain for me to paint the cottage house flour and outside walls (being frugal there rather then buying "paint" for the floor and then "stain" for the outside walls).  I got "Navajo Red" which is the same thing we painted our house in.  So I have a barn red floor inside.  It really looks alot better then I thought it would!  Since we have hardboard siding, a weather prof color stain is far baetter then using an exterior paint.  :-)  We then stopped by my daughters house quick so I could see my grandson for a bit, got home, changed and got to work right away.  I began painting the cottage house floor and Kerry plugged away on the new chicken coop.  Then all heck broke loose!  LOL!  My SIL (my brothers wife) called and said they may stop out if we weren't busy.....well we were busy but they had not been here in over a year so I told her to come on out!  Plus my SIL had never seen the homestead in the daylight so I was tickled!  Once they got here we walked them (especially her) around the homestead giving her the "tour" LOL!  Shortly after that my DH oldest daughter and her fiance' and kids stopped by with a surprise visit to help Kerry with the cottage house door..............FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  My dh had only been waiting for her fiance's help for over a week now!  UUGGHH!  A few min. later Kerry's daughter's ex BF stopped with their daughter here as he was dropping her off.  Well we had actually been trying to make contact with him for the past year to help fix our roof that "he" designed and helped my dh put on!  (it is leaking severely!)  So he stayed a bit and had a look at it and is coming in 2 weeks to help.......finally!  Well a couple minutes after he got here, my Ex was dropping off my daughter.  LOL!  It was jusr crazy here!  Needless to say it was nearly 9pm before we got inside and even thought of anything to eat.

Monday...............you know what I did?  ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!  LOL!  I took it easy, spent time with my son, puddered around the house, got online here and there and just relaxed.  Then Tuesday I cooked and froze some of our sweet corn from our garden, had to prepare for my first Girl Scout troop mtg of the season for my girls.  We met shortly after 6:30pm, I had stopped and ordered a pizza for a treat in honor of our first mtg. and had 3 girls not there.  One was out of state on vacation, one supposidly quit and one had a scheduling conflict.  So I need to call those moms.  Yesterday was relaxing day as well and................I got some very exciting news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I finally called our Home Owners Agent and found out that WE CAN HAVE A WOOD BURNER HERE IN OUR LIVING ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   OH PRAISE GOD!!!!!  So I am looking into all of that now.  I also picked around my office area in our room and then burned a bunch of paper work that I sorted through.  I can actually see the floor now!  LOL!  Then  we had to get the kids off to church last night.  Dakota was able to recite his Cubbie's bible verse and the Cubbie's Motto!  I was soooooooooooooo proud!  Him and dady had practed Monday and Tuesday night, then reviewed on the way into church last night.  :-)

Well I need to get some pictures taken and posted of the cottage house and coop for you gals to see, but is another rainy day here at Hidden Creek, so I will get to it just as soon as I can!

 BlessingsCarrie
